Hi Dacob! This only proves that Chanel can do much better in terms of quality. Leather craftsmanship has been transferred in western Europe for decades. In southern Spain there is a region dedicated to it and they are small family owned factories that employ most of the people living in those villages so craft knowledge is passed on within families. Im sure the current factories could also do better if quality over quantity was Chanel’s focus. I assume Chanel was not expecting to sell massively this cute lipstick holder necklace and they could give the order to a specialized atelier who had the time and care to put all their attention to the pieces.

I am not sure how often they thought this piece was going to sell but they did make it in both lambskin and caviar and in at least four color-ways per leather variation so I would suppose that at least a few were delivered to each boutique and since they went up in price after their release, I imagine they would still possibly be planned to remain in production since usually seasonal pieces do not go up in price once released since they do not usually make them again the following season. I am curious to see if this one gets a few seasons production life span. I hope it does cuz its a great piece. 💖🥰
