A film I would recommend (well maybe a couple) is called The Haunting of Julia (also known under the title Full Circle). It also stars the lovely Mia Farrow. It is not Criterion however and I do not know of any "official" release of the film. It really deserves a BR release. Another one kind of similar to Full Circle & Rosemary's Baby (in terms of being a satisfying "slow burn" horror story), is The Changeling, starring George C. Scott. That one IS available by Severin, and one that I also own. But those films are fantastic.

Another great video, Zsofia! My Criterion Collection is also quite humble compared to many others, but that's what's so wonderful about collecting. Whether it's a large collection, or a small what, it's always special to the person collecting. Anyway, I wanted to leave a few potential recommendations for movies (and one book!) for you to check out based on some of these movies you have. You're passion about The Age of Innocence makes me want to see the movie AND read the novel. Have you read that book yet? If you haven't had the chance, I HIGHLY recommend the novel Ethan Frome. It's written by the same author who wrote The Age of Innocence, Edith Wharton, and it seems like it explores a lot of the same themes. It's one of the best books I've ever read, but it is absolutely heart wrenching. It's very short though, so it could be a quick read, if you're interested and haven't read that one yet. Since you're a Rebecca fan, I recommend the 2011 version of Jane Eyre starring Mia Washikowska and Michael Fassbender. It really leans into the dark, Gothic nature of the tale. It's such a beautiful adaptation. Also, in the same vein, and also by Guillermo del Toro, Crimson Peak is absolutely a must watch. A lot of the things you mentioned that you enjoyed about Rebecca are things that you will also find in Crimson Peak, with the added bonus of spooky scenes with amazing looking ghosts. They looks like clay statues come to life. It's such an underrated modern movie. If you go hunting, there is a Limited Edition Blu-ray by Arrow Video out there that is of Criterion quality. The package is amazing. Finally, those slow-burn movies that you requested. If you want another horror movie, I suggest Burnt Offerings. It's quietly creepy, and it builds and builds to truly wild climax. The second movie I recommend as highly as I possibly can is The Swimmer starring Burt Lancaster. It's not a horror movie, but it is bewildering and upsetting and it just builds and builds to moments that, for me, are unforgettable. It's a very surreal movie, too. I've never seen anything like it before. Highly, highly, highly recommended. God bless, and take care!

Thank you so much for this great great comment! I actually have the book The Age of Innocence back in Hungary, I haven’t read it yet. I’ll grab it next time when I go back. I absolutely adore all Jane Eyre adaptations including the one you mentioned. My favorite is the mini series though with Ruth Wilson. Also I agree with you about Crimson Peak! I really enjoy that movie as well and I the atmosphere and cinematography style is captivating! Great recommendations! Thank you for your other recommendations as well, I will look into them! filozsofia Cool! I hope you find a new movie to enjoy from them. I hope you take Daisuke’s advice and make that Michelle Pfieffer ranking video.
