THANK YOU! I'm just starting to look into curly girl stuff and I'm SO overwhelmed! I've discovered I have a similar hair type so this is very helpful

This video should have millions and millions of views!! So incredibly helpful. I’ve been trying to learn about the curly girl method for a couple weeks and people try and cover too many different hair types high prosty low exc in the same video. Which means you’re getting opposite recommendations in the same video making it very confusing. You were step-by-step it was phenomenal. I am so excited to get my wavy hair looking like yours!

Your curls are my goals! I recently had all the dark and red bleached out of my hair so I could start growing my natural color out!

Thank you for making this tutorial! My hair is similar (2c/3a low porosity). I'm surprised Shea Moisture works for you; I used the pink label version (I think it had hibiscus in it), but it felt like it was too heavy. Gonna try out this upside-down washing today and using a T-shirt today.

If you have low porosity, you'll want to stay away from conditioners that have a lot of protein in them. Shea Moisture's pink label is high in protein and great for high porosity hair. It is too "heavy" for me. The protein just builds up and "sits" on the hair instead of being absorbed. But their other products work great!

What do you do for protein? What products and how often? I find with lo porosity and possibly an odd version of protein sensitivity I’m having a really hard time figuring out what to use with protein, how often, how to get good results with.

I love your name! Huge Disney fan here! For the first 8 or so months, I didn't really worry about adding protein. However, several months ago my hair started getting stringy and strawlike and I realized that protein was in EVERY product I was using, so I had to eliminate it for a while. It seems like my hair has done much better without it. However, if your hair craves protein, I would recommend doing a deep conditioner with protein maybe 1-2x per month and then using products that are heavier in protein. My protein heavy lineup that I had been using included: giovanni 50:50 shampoo and smooth as silk conditioner, cantu curl activating cream, and Eco Curl and Wave Gel! I have also used the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil mask for protein. It's great and smells wonderful!

Did you find something that works??? I started w protein overload & avoided it COMPLETELY for a month. I know I need it but I’m afraid now. Hair is too moisturized tho. Wondering about the Shea moisture curl smoothie here?

Hi there! I initially thought that I was low because my hair takes forever to get wet, but I think I’m actually high because my hair is color treated!

How often do you use shampoo? How often do your wash your hair?
@confessionsofawavygirl88833 жыл бұрын
I usually was 2-3 times per week! I usually clarify every other week and use a "low poo" most of the time. I will co-wash when my hair is feeling more dry!
