The thing about carbon plate sneakers is that they're meant to be used for race days or speed workouts because they prevent injuries but if you use them on a daily basis you basically stop using certain parts of your feet/legs that could easily brake with normal shoes because you basically stop giving strength to those parts. A marathon runner told me about the Achilles heel and how using the alphaflys daily could easily break it because I stop strengthening it

Carbon plated shoes are usually for racing!!! Like to wear on race day. People usually put some miles on them during speed workouts prior to race day to break them in but their lifetime mileage is pretty low compared to normal trainers, plated shoes typically only last 150-200 miles depending on the person so be careful since they’re so expensive! 🙂

This. People need to do their research in carbon plated shoes. You're not supposed to do all runs in carbon plated shoes. They're meant to be used very rarely, maybe a tempo/speed run and a long run before the race. The more you use them the less responsive the foam becomes so they lose their race day purpose. They also change your gait - hence why you hear so much about people saying the cause injuries. These injuries pop up in the long term, not short.

Just a note about the carbon plated shoes, definitely do some research on what they can do to your body over long wear.. I know plenty of people who have foot and leg injuries from carbon shoes. As well, they don’t have the life span of a regular running shoes and should be replaced more often!

I work at a running shoe store and have been expert trained in running shoes. Carbon plated shoes are built to last only a few hundred miles max because they’re designed for racing, not daily training. Normal running shoes are designed to last 400-500.
