Interesting, maybe it's related to the pigments, or simply the age of the paint.

Thank you for the video. I always love your palette update videos and blogs. I just wanted to share the tip this watercolour retailer told me to solve the most annoying binder separation issue is to put the tube in a plastic bag and swing it around kind of vigorously before pouring it into the well. It actually helps!

Haha, I need to try that the next time. Thanks!

You might want to try Daniel Smith watercolor paints. They are excellent

I like DS paints, but they’re prohibitively expensive over here.

Thank you! I, too, am not a huge fan of granulating paints. I love your "new" yellow. I like buff titanium a lot, but I can see where this one could be a handy replacement. Heading to your blog now for more details. :)

Of all my artist grade paints, M Grahams are my favorite. They take a few days to ‘dry’ in pans, but the wait is so worth it. Howerver, I’m not sure how they would perform in humid places. I recently did a comparison painting with QOR (same subject, different paints) and MG colors look much better and were so much more fun to work with. I’d love to try MG gouache but I better finish my cheap paints first before I spend more on MGs. 😆

I've heard good things about M Graham paints, too. I can't get them here, but it sounds like you're really happy with them and they perform well!

Might I suggest that you write the names of the colors on your swatch card. I really didn’t get very well what was the totality of your colors since you didn’t even tell us what some of them were. I like to see what others have in their palettes since I have such fun putting palettes together.

You can find all of the color names and pigment names in the blog post that's linked in the description. :)

It's a nice color selection. I recently made myself an only granulating palette to take with me 😂

Sorry I don't have a link, I got it from a local German shop. But I'm sure you can get these kind of palettes online. Art supply shops often have these no name articles.

Thank you for sharing your palette. I also like less granulating colors. Though is nice to have a few for special effects, as long as I have a non granulating alternative. I always look for ways in which I can make fewer brush strokes cause I have hand pain, but still smooth watercolors win my heart. I recently feel in love with mixing perylene green with buff titanium to create a Davys grey dupe. I wonder if I can replicate it with your replacement for buff titanium to reduce granulation

Oh I have to try that particular mix, perylene pigments are always such good mixers.

@@NatureSketchbook then maybe a mix of perylene violet and perylene green might interest you to create a black without using black. I dont have a transparente black so that is as close as I can get.

I have enjoyed watching many of your videos recently. Thankyou for doing them. Can I ask what coloured pencils you recommend for sketching under watercolour, and for adding details on top of watercolour? I saw your drawing tools video and you said you were still experimenting (1 yr ago) 😊

At the moment I'm not using the colored pencils a lot, but I have a blog where I showed a few of the pencils I like and how I use them: juliabausenhardt.com/how-i-use-colored-pencils-for-sketching/

At the moment, I'm not painting a lot in gouache, but I'm sure I'll come back to it at some point. :)
