Hey! I thought as a first generation farmer I would come to help clear up some of the confusion on the cows topic. 1) you would castrate most bulls believe it or not! most of them are not the quality to pass down their genetics. ranchers try to breed to only improve their stock. you wouldn't want just any bull breeding and they breed at specific times for the health and safety of the cows and calves. bulls can attack calves and kill them. also sometimes cows get years off for their health. If the lower quality males are castrated then they can still go out to pasture to be in a herd safely to promote a happier life for hem while they grow out for processing. its actually the responsible thing to do as a rancher! 2) They absolutely DO NOT tie up their balls for bull riding. They actually use something called a flank strap that has a timer to fall off at 9 seconds. most bucking bulls are worth a lot of money are they are actualy taken care of very well. they are also used to breed to make more bucking bulls and you don't want to risk damaging their goods lol! they are trained actually to only buck with the strap once it falls off they stop. i hope all this info helps clear up anything for those who don't know any better!!!

Beef cattle farmer and future livestock veterinarian here. To put it simply: bulls = balls; heifer = a young lady, think someone in their mid 20s who is not yet burdened by children; cows = has had children (possibly a single mom who works 2 jobs, loves her kids and never stops). These terms can be used for both beef and dairy cattle

Hi! Broski Nation veterinary here! Bulls are indeed bovines, just like their female counterparts parts, cows, and also other species (buffalos, bisons etc). Bovines are a subfamily of the bovinae family (bovids), which include other hoofed ruminants, such as sheep and goats. Hope this was a useful service for the rest of broski nation :) (also, gender is a human social construct, animals do not care about it, so do treat them as you please, if the species, age, sex (if not sterilised) and healthcare needs and looots of love are provided they’ll be happy and thriving)

I grew up on a sheep farm Ewe: girl sheep Ram: boy sheep Lamb: baby sheep (used for both sexes of sheep) Wether: castrated ram (the sheep version of a steer) Hope that helps!! As far as I can remember, we didn’t have a separate term for a ewe that hasn’t had babies and a ewe that has, but once a sheep is 1 year old, they are full grown and referred to as a yearly (ewe or ram) and once we had shown them at a fair, we’d take them home and they’d start having babies and sometimes they’d even be pregnant with babies at the fair when we showed them depending on when the fair took place and when we planned for them to have babies 😊

Omg okay so my husband and I have this thing with redbull where when you drink a redbull you either have a chuck norris or a Danny devito. Because sometimes redbull can be really sweet, and sometimes they can be really strong. The strong ones are a chuck Norris cause they taste like chuck Norris piss, the sweeter ones are a Danny devito. I honestly have no idea why we chose him for the sweet ones but this is a tradition we have started and carried for years now and every time we take a sip of redbull you’ll hear one of us say chuck or Danny.
