Gotta love hunting with pop's. I took my dad turkey hunting for a week in late September of 2021. He was 77 and could barely move, but we had a blast. I came home with my limit. My dad..... he just enjoyed drinking his Jack Daniel's and watching me track turkey's 😅. Awesome hunt my man. God Bless

Thanks a lot! They’re all out of smaller named kennels, nothing recognizable. But they have solid pedigrees and the breeders goals lined up with mine. We also have a litter from time to time when the stars line up.

I live and hunt in Montana. I use 2 Wirehair Pointing Griffons, Huns and Sharpies are some wiley birds that can be fun or frustrating.

Love bird hunting but to be honest I enjoy the dog work equally. Grew up in Northern New England, chasing patridge but feel blessed to be a Montanan.. We have such a diversity of birds and terrain.

Oh man. 12 britts... I had one britt 20 years ago and couldn't get him on enough birds to give him a chance to be a good hunter. Congrats on your dog training success and for a very good video.

Couldnt help but notice you're a falconer, my pops is one as well. Evidently this year out sharptail hunting we seen multiple prairie falcons and even had one chasing a sharptail about 80 yards out in front of us. Anyways always glad to see people with birds of prey, happy hunting.

All these comments about good dog work. Makes me wonder if anyone has hunted with actual pointing and retrieving dogs. I haven't hunted with britannys so maybe thats as good as they get. Lots of guys having fun which is nice to see.

Lol. Idk man, dogs are pointing, birds are dropping and birds are being brought back 🤷🏻‍♂️ sure, a few little small things to clean up, my dogs aren’t always used to hunting with 3 other dogs in the field and 4 guys. But at that point not much else you can ask for.

In the 12 minutes I watched, I saw 3 birds mouthed on the ground while the dog refused the commands from the handler and a ton of birds that the handler had to pick up himself.

@@VersatileHunter ah man, you guys are right. I’ll take the mask off, we’ve been found out. I have dogs that won’t get out from my feet, won’t point and won’t retrieve. At the end of my dads time of his trip he told me I have some nice dogs and he’s proud, about the only opinion I’ll put any weight into. Have a good one 🙃

@@VersatileHunterwe picked a few birds up, sure. It’s just how it played out. It doesn’t mean I don’t emphasize retrieving and recovering game with my dogs and our training. These videos don’t always give full context to every situation, you guys would be bored listening to me talk explaining every detail every time. Sometimes in thick grass and shrubby cover with big coveys taking flight the dogs don’t always see the one bird that fell as the other 15 are flying away, with guys in multiple places shooting. My orange female Aspen, yeah she doesn’t have a picture perfect retrieve to hand, brings birds to your feet, maybe mouths them a bit. But that’s just where she’s at right now, two year old dog that I have not force broke yet. But I’ll be damed if she hasn’t retrieved everything to me when she’s had an opportunity to do so. Another season under her belt and another year of training and she’ll be looking real clean. All good if you don’t enjoy the content we put out 👍🏻 I just feel it’s a little unfair to say the dogs don’t retrieve because we picked up a few birds, you can go watch any of the 30 videos on my channel and you’ll see dogs making nice retrieves to hand on about everything we shoot. But as far as this one, it’s just how it played out. Maybe that makes my dogs crappy retrievers? Idk tho man, they’ve never let me down when I needed them to.
