I love the videos. Beautiful dogs and beautiful country. Took a year off from Montana this last year and cant wait to get back up there again this year.

Thanks for the feedback. Montana is something special, we can't wait to make it our regular September trip. I hope our schedule allows it this year.

Great vid. Got my griffon pup and I’m now itching to go knock down birds. Fun you answered the two things first how close it looked and the vest you packing. Not that I was going to say anything about how close it look. Getting my gps panthfinder2 and train train train.

Congratulations on the Griff pup, that is exciting! New pups are so much fun, especially learning together you'll have the best bonding time. Alright Pathfinder2 is a great way to go! Hope you enjoy the collar and I was able to answer any questions about it. I'll have to shoot a follow up video on the system sometime this spring. Final Rise (@finalrise) makes some great products and are just great people. In fact I just ordered their new Summit XT so I'm excited to give it a go.

Ciao Dave, simply awesome vid! Sawyer is proving to be a great dog who can go from woodcock woods to endless prairies .. he did a great job. I struggle and a little bit to understand the shooting distances, they mostly seem to be very long shots, a bit like it happens here with the Red Partridges that struggle to keep the point of the dog. Thanks for sharing, man! Ciaoo 👍
@UnderFortyYards2 жыл бұрын
Hi Stefano, yes Sawyer adjusted well. The dry conditions made scenting difficult but the dogs did ok. He had some nice finds and distance points. Some of the longer shots the birds flew at 30-35 meters and some very close of less than 20 meters. Others were way out at 50+ that were not shootable. We had a great time, more to come in part 2!

Ugh. 80°? Not a chance in hell. I’ll flyfish until it gets a lot colder. But nice vid. Hint: Get some good tents and sleeping bags. The kind hardcore backpacker hunters like I use. You’ll be toasty warm in 45° with cold pelting rain or in -20°F with 24” of new pow. Can you imagine a Comanche light calvary raiding team in 1868 complaining about 40° weather? Yeah me either. They’d lay down 1,000 miles in 12 days riding 20 hours a day. Get tough boys.

We missed the real heat the week before, was in the 90s. We got a nice cool down for the 2nd half of the visit.
