It’s all about perspective. You grew up in a minority heavy area. I’m Puerto Rican and grew up in a very very low income white area. The cops beat down my white brothers, planted drugs on em, made shit up, and harassed them. So by their perspective the cops are messin with everyone. It’s about what you see and what you live with. I get what you’re saying but you don’t see everything just like Tom doesn’t see everything and I don’t see everything.

I love how everyone who says "you don't know the history of Thanksgiving" doesn't know the history of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of the rare holidays that is exactly what it claims to be. The first Thanksgiving absolutely was a celebration between both Pilgrims and natives, the first generation of settlers had a very good relationship with the natives. It was the next generation that f'd everything up.

I would have to agree. I am a direct descendant from the Mayflower in 1620. My family has writings from them stating how grateful they were for the natives. They suffered a lot of deaths the first year.

Thank you for this comment. I hope the both of them see it so they can look into this more. @Raymond Thomson It's only divided in race because you let it be that way. It's called the United States of America. Unite with everyone and change the actual problem in this country, which is rich "elites" vs poor "regular folks". You're fully free to divide yourself away by race because you think that will somehow change something. That's your right. But that's just weakening the strength of the nation as a whole. When your enemy is splitting you apart into groups, they're scared of what might happen if too many people realize their true intentions and revolt against them.

New watcher here. I love the interaction between you and your dad. It’s obvious you have a good relationship, which is so important for a girl. There’s only one thing I want to comment on. I’m a middle aged, white woman living in the suburbs of British Columbia, Canada. I honestly couldn’t count how many times I’ve been followed around a store to make sure I don’t shoplift anything. I’ll admit that I get a bit offended every time it happens but I understand that it has to do with business statistics and demographics. In my area shoplifters tend to be white middle aged women or white teenage girls. I’m not gonna pretend I know what you’ve experienced in your life regarding prejudice and discrimination, I just want you to know that white people experience that stuff too. Assuming you know what a person, or a group of people, have experienced in their life based solely on their skin colour is a form of racism. Anyway, I’m not trying to start anything, just wanted to share my opinion and experience. We’re all just trying to learn about each other everyday. Keep doing what you’re doing. I hope you have a lot of success with your channel. ☺️

100%! I think many black people would be surprised to know that white people are harrased by police or followed by loss prevention in stores too. I come from a middle income family, typical white family with no criminal backgrounds whatsoever and me and my family have plenty of experiences being judged by police. My brother (who is ultra preppy, ultra religious guy, who NEVER has done an illegal thing in his LIFE) was pulled over by police as a teen and had guns pulled out on him because it was his first time getting stopped and he opened his door because he thought he was supposed to get out 🤣 . My sister in law who is also a very average, preppy white woman, was in NY attending a Christian college at the time (and also looks like a total book worm and never commited any crimes ever just fyi) was pulled over with her friends and did NOTHING wrong but the cops said they matched the description of people involved in a robbery, pulled guns out and handcuffed them. I also remember when I was younger (around 16) I was walking down my street (which was a majority white area, decent neighborhood with low crime) and a cop drove by and stopped and started harassing me because my boyfriend was with me was smoking a cigarette. He checked his ID (which he was 18) but he wanted mine too (even though I wasnt smoking), I didnt have one so he flipped out and accused me of being difficult and I showed him I only lived two houses down. He went to the house and talked to my parents to confirm I lived there and that I had no ID, and told them he thought I could have been a runaway. WTH?? 🤣🤣... More recently, my husband (who is also white) was on the way to the pet ER with our dog (he was having seizures in the backseat and was literally DYING) got pulled over by police (was not breaking any laws) and was harassed by police because they said he matched the description of a robbery near by. My huband told him about our dog and where he was going but the cop did not seem to care and still went through the process of having to clear him before he was released. But in each of these cases we just dealt with it and let the cop do their job. There are plenty of other stories like these I could tell but the point is that even though it can be irritating, and upsetting, it happens sometimes to everyone. I also have been follwed in stores MANY times in my life, but it just makes me laugh because I dont steal, but if they wanna follow me then go ahead. I personally, feel if a someone is a jerk they are gonna treat ya like crap nomatter what color your skin is. Sure, there are racist cops and racist people, but the majority of people who treat others badly will act that way to everyone.

The two best words I heard in this video. "COMMON SENSE". those words go a long way.
@Strider91
@Strider91 3 жыл бұрын
Fair point. But my issue with the "common sense" argument is this: common sense is referred to as such because its supposed to be information that is shared among or learned from peers simply by going about daily life. But the problem today (i find, as someone who works with and educates the youth) is that things that are commonly held by the older generation as common sense are unknown to today's youth. I've thought long and hard about this, and I think its because of a mix of people mostly socializing online, increases in home school that lead to people existing within their own little bubble, and the fact that that we no long encourage people as a society to talk about serious issues or social issues with one another for fear of "offending" people. Simply put, common sense is only common sense if shared commonly 🤣. Which it is not. . . .

I think the statement Tom made about BLM was referring more about the unspoken classism issue rather than a racism one. Classism is just as bad as racism. Even if racism ends, classism will always remain. It's been proven throughout millenia of history that those on the lower levels of society will always be subjugated by those few on the highest strata of the societal ladder. Why? Simply because human nature dictates that because "I'm powerful, have money, and I'm part of a prestigious group of individuals that those below me deserve to either serve me or be constantly supervised by me because I dont believe that those below me can handle the knowledge I possess properly so we will keep them ignorant of this knowledge in order to avoid our system from crashing down because the other alternative is chaotic, world-ending anarchy." Just telling you guys how people with power think or do you think I'm wrong? Let me know.

I love you guys and no hate at all just a simple comment, i am white and i have never had to experience this but i have seen both sides and in my opinion there are cops that shouldn’t be cops they will do whatever they want no matter the race, i think the whole George Floyd situation was completely taken out of context, and 99% of people don’t know that he was a extremely bad person and he died from the drugs in his system, but they would rather blame it on the white cop, and i am not racist at all, i love everyone, I’m just saying the media makes up so much shit it’s not funny, And we don’t say white lives matter because y’all would cancel us for that, everyone i have ever known isn’t racist but the amount of times we have been accused of being privileged, called a cracker, and just overall been mean to by a different race, is a lot, race is such a big thing and until people stop seeing color it will stay this way, but good video, this isn’t any hate just a civil comment, have a good day

They disagreed, they stated their perspective, but they still gave Tom Macdonald props at the end and didn't call him a racist or say they would never listen to another song by him. They stated what they've experienced, how that doesn't line up with what he said, but didn't take it to an extreme. I respect the hell out of that. So even when people aren't on the same level in a certain area, they can coexist and move on. Mad respect for that. This is a good man, and he raised a good daughter.

In the Western tradition, for all of its many flaws and shortcomings, we have used language as a way to figure things out, to find out what is right and wrong, true and false and so we debate in public. - this goes back to Socrates if you read a Socratic dialogue by Plato it's all about, for example. "okay so what does the word "justice" mean...I mean what does it REALLY REALLY mean? And then they would talk it out. This is the same thing at work in a presidential debate or in a court case where a lawyer for the defendant and the prosecutor make arguments for and against someone being guilty. -talking it out/back and forth. Marxists DON'T THINK THIS WAY, everything is purely political with them. They use language to push an agenda, and defeat opponents to establish control. That is why they silence opponents- They DO NOT BELIEVE IN FREE SPEECH. Cancel culture is not an accident it's WHAT THEY WANT.
