We went to a habachi restaurant with my in-laws when my third was about 2. She “had” to sit on Nonnie’s lap to eat. When my MIL got home she found rice down in her boots and was having to dump it out like sand. 😂

My husband travelled a lot for work as well. He “convinced” me to adopt this method. Your Dad has mastered the art and was funny! I must admit travel is much more enjoyable since we made the switch. Our first long carry on only trip was to Nairobi,Kenya. We took dress clothes, safari clothes, and casual clothes. We left (on purpose) some items the missionaries said they could use. That made room for a few souvenirs. Since that trip we have never travelled any other way. We’ve been to Alaska, Hawaii, and Florida with our son and daughter, their spouses and 6 grandchildren. It can be done!! And the things your Mom does I do as well. The guys do it differently!

I do too, I take my own towels, body condom (sleep sheet that is to be inserted in hotel sheets), blanket, toiletries galore (dove soap, electric toothbrush, mouthwash, makeup, curling iron, etc..)

Your Dad is hilarious! Lots of perfume lol. My teenage boys love this theory as well. My best advice for moms traveling. Pack a t shirt leggings in carryon/diaper bag...because you never know when they will throw up all over you and you are covered in it. And if they lose your luggage...double whammy. Your tshirt can double if you have to change school age kids clothes in emergency.

I just love your parents and grandma. They are just wonderful people. I just went to see Padre Pio’s relics yesterday. That was an awesome time of prayer with the rosary and mass; as well as the sacrament of reconciliation. My sister and I packed enough to feed an army but didn’t eat too much of it. So we shared our leftovers with others and will eat the rest at a different time. It will save us from having to think of what to fix at that time. We used to be flustered with leftovers but we don’t let little things like that bother us anymore. We took a family friend and one of my brothers. I can say that this is one time where we just had faith, fun and family with no fights or ugliness.
