@6:30 fun fact about Cobra's Curse and the smell. There used to be a walk-through exhibit that replicated the tomb of King Tut where the queue is now. They created an artificial smell to help sell the illusion you're in a previously undisturbed tomb of a dead guy and after some decades it's just permanently seeped into the walls. I get nostalgic walking through that queue from the smell alone.

Montu is just insane. I sitll remember every second of that coaster after not having been to the park since 09. During the batwing section there was this metal plate on the ground that would rattle so loud as the train flew past it. It created this INSANE roaring sound, and the trains just felt like they were going 1000 mph through there. I can see its not there anymore. Then it goes into this break run that prepares you for the corkscrews, and you're just flying through that bit. The entire ride is so memorable, lost track how many times I've been on it. My favorite rides were the night rides before the park closed, it just felt faster. And I loved the twinkling lights of the park, and little lights positioned throughout the track like on the break runs. Whole thing is such a goddamn vibe. The only inverted track that has given me a similar experience, including the night time experiences, is in Busch Gardens Virginia with the ride Alpengeist. That ride kicks asss. Top three thrills in my life are that, Montu and I305. I had no idea about I305 before I went on it, it was just this ride in the back of Kings Dominion with seemingly no queue line haha, seemed innocent. Kumba and Shiekra were my first go to's in the park right when it would open. My friend and I would be the only two kids on Shiekra bright and early. Shame about your first kumba ride. Seems like the track is deteriorating, I've heard they plan on removing it. I remember it being a little shaky in 09 but it was still smooth enough to enjoy a lot. This is making me wanna fly down to Tampa for a day or two just to revisit. There's so many new rides there I would love to go on. Definitely make your way up to Busch Gardens Virginia though, you'll fucking love it. Shiekra has my heart for Dive coasters still to this day but Griffon and Alpengeist seriously goated

@@bogusWasHere you should try some of the coasters! Start with cobras curse, then do cheetah hunt, then SheiKra or kumba, then you can do any coaster in the world tbh. @@FaceRippedOff thanks for the tips. ive only ever been on scorpion, which was enough for me to get over a fear of inversions, and phoenix rising, which, like u said, got me used to dangling feet. cobra's curse is definitely up next for me, and cheetah hunt looks awesome, i just need to get over how tall it looks. iron gwazi is absolutely the ultimate goal, just because i feel like an asshole having one of the best coasters in the world in my backyard, and an annual pass, and i've just never ridden it.

I have a few words about the Iron Gwazi you like; I do too. I loved hearing your description, so in return, here's mine. I hadn't been on a coaster in 15 years I'd guess. This wild ride will vibrate your entire soul and my ass can still feel it, which is a good thing. I had a few choice words while screaming on such a life-changing, larger than any imagination ride to be erected. You should hear mine, but you might not be shocked to hear the descriptives that came out of my mouth, having ridden it yourself (or it rode you). I wouldn't risk my KZbin account repeating that here, or maybe just a little, but there's more. A video cannot not replicate the rocket speed you start at when you drop into hell in the beginning, and then nearly rips your ass apart with negative G's, twists and loops and turns at unreal speeds and the most incredible experience outside of my bedroom I have ever experienced. I recommend an inversion table treatment afterward because a couple times I felt like I was in a can crusher. This coaster will make you forget what you are wearing, who is sitting next to you and when you were born. I noticed the hair on your legs survived; very fortunate. It doesn't just drop you from the top you see in the video, it shoots you like a bullet from the clouds to the bottom of the frigging earth so fast you can't measure speeds like that. For an instant before you become gun powder, you can see the entire park, for that matter you can see Orlando and the Gulf of Mexico from there. After that, be glad your fuckin' balls are attached, because it gives "ride" a new definition, and that word has not been invented yet. You'll see wood and steel, different colors flash by so fast, an impressionist painting would be more clear. You'll wonder what in the hell you were thinking when you got in line, if you've never ridden it before. It will make you pray for your soul, even if you have no religion. After having been tortured in the front seat, I went back for another beating in the back seat. I was insane to ride it once, so why not twice? What's the difference? How would I know, I rode it back to back and wasn't un-dizzy until I had time to compose myself a little later when I tried to walk in a straight line; good luck with that for a day and a half. I do remember trying to let go of the padding and relax when it lied to me, making me think I was safe, until it whupped my ass again and flung me around like laundry in the spin cycle. I also found myself trying to look ahead, say like 1/10,00t0h of a second, to see which way it was going to throw me next. That worked all of twice. Doesn't matter which way it throws you anyhow, because it's going to whip you the other way and turn your butt over with or without your permission. You best not plan on any direction with this beast; let it eat you alive and wait for it to spit you out. I am a different man now. When I think roller coaster, I don't think of that little park I went to as a kid, or 6 Flags, or anything but one - GWAZI. I think of the most masterful invention of human design to terrify and illuminate the human experience that cannot happen any other way. Every emotion I have ever had blew through my mind as did the physical experience or nearly blowing my ears off, and it caused a reaction that is reserved for adult content. This roller coaster is not just a ride; t is truly life-changing. For one who is terrified of heights, that compounded my experience, yet in a good way. If I could conquer that fear, and also live through two terms as a prisoner of this magnificent god-like creation, my life is changed. I'm still afraid of heights, but I'd ride GWAZI again, because I believe in doing crazy things, even though it is terrifying. I swear, I never wanted a motorcycle, never thought about one, until this thing came along. It's the only way to recall that feeling as I instantly did when I sat on one and started going. I went to Zephyrhills shortly after and got my motorcycle endorsement for my license and I started riding. I had to feel that wind again and feel my ass vibrating as I remembered so vividly; I loved it! I am fortunate I live about 40 minutes from this park, although I went as a guest of someone who works for all of the parks here, because the entrance fee while somewhat affordable to some, is simply outrageous and I would not pay it even with a resident discount. I would pay just for a ticket for this ride by itself and nothing else though, I'm just not that interested in the rest of the park, except for rides. While more fantastical than words or even a video could show, it's not worth $135 plus parking to ride it by itself. I love roller coasters, but I'm not obsessed with them (well, I'll think on that). I should add I went on Monday; residents don't go on weekends. That's how I could catch 15 rides in less than 4 hours, but it does mean sprinting across the park 4.71 miles during that time, not that I measured it or anything. Adults: It is not possible to describe this roller coaster. Even as I write, I think of noting I say could possibly convey the experience this behemoth can do. I've been off of it for months now, but it is still with me, and I don't think that is going away, at least I hope not. Imagine your best orgasm and magnify that as many times as you can think of. It doesn't last any longer, it's just massively intense. The similarity is that I can't think of anything else you can relate to in order to describe it. If it was 45 seconds longer..., well never mind. I'm thrilled I got involved with motorcycles though, something I truly hadn't thought of until I experienced the openness, speed (not speeding) and wind, and it was all because of the Iron Gwazi. A new world with new friends opened up to me. I hope I'll get invited back someday. For me, and in only 2 words, the Iron Gwazi was "life-changing".

Florida resident here, have seen the parks grow. Iron gwazi is insane, it has no mid course brake run so you do that initial drop and just madness ensues afterwards. Montu is old but still absolutely holds up, those inversions are a rush. Possibly the best inverted coaster ever. I also had the same thoughts with cheetah hunt, it's not too intense but really gorgeous ride

I rode Cobra's Curse on accident with my 4 year old. Like 15 years ago, that section had a VR ride where they put Cobra's Curse so I thought that's what it was again when it opened. When we got to the front and realised it was a coaster, I turned to him and was like "Are you sure? We dont have to". He said yea he wants to (he was just barely tall enough). Mind you, i dont like coaters, so i already dont want to do this ride at this point. By the time it was over he was terrified and said "That wasnt a good idea" lol. Scary at the time, but amazing memory that im glad to have shared with my kid.

I LOVE the montu so much it's my favorite roller coaster ever and I'm a Florida resident. One of the other reasons I love montu so much is whenever I come, there is NEVER a line longer than 10-20 minutes for it! Everyone's always too terrified of it! I took my boyfriend the week after you went and he's a roller coaster hater, I was able to convince him to go on the montu with me and that changed his perspective to a rollercoaster lover and that's how he found this video! The kumba is also the only rollercoaster that will never fail to make me puke after. Not sure why and it sucks because I love the kumba but the kumba doesn't love me.

Florida resident here, I haven't been to Busch Gardens since I've been an adult, but I remember when Sheikra wasn't a floorless coaster and there wasn't an Iron Gwazi, but there was a wooden coaster called Gwazi. I think it had a tiger theme back then if I remember correctly.

On Kumba there’s a spot where if you’re sitting on the right most seat in the row as you go into a right turn right at ground level (14:10 mark) if you hold your arm out to your right towards the ground static electricity comes up from the ground. You feel it, you hear it. Next time you’re in town try it. I’ve felt it, my kid felt it. It’s a thing. Cheers!

Going through the tunnel on Kumba at night is definitely a cool experience (the roar at night is even more intense)!
@sterlingklein5626Ай бұрын
Cheetah Hunt is meant to be like youre a cheetah, running and banking on the ground as you chase your prey. Thinking about it that way when you ride it gives it a little bit more fun. Youre on the prowl. *Edit bc im writing as i watch* also if you go with someone with a disability in your party, uou can request a full round trip on the sky ride and just use it as decompression time to see the park. When you just wanna relax and have some downtime away from crowds, its great. They clip a lil flag or carabiner onto the skyride and it means youre doing the full circle. And yes, montu has gotten a lil shakier over the years but it was always what my family made a beeline to. Such a fun coaster My family calls Kumba the headache maker. Its so rough. If you ever go back, and its hot out, roaring river rapids is a massive family favorite. The "gator" on iron gwazi's car is meant to be one of two dueling animals. One was an tiger and one was lion. The ride was originally a wooden coaster (and still uses some of the old framework) and Gwazi was two separate cars that raced each other, so you could even choose which team youd ride on. Iron Gwazi held true to its roots and kept the animal themed cars

This is my home park, the first time I rode the iron gwazi was at hallow scream in the middle of the night. I didn't know what the track looked like so it was just pure Terror the entire time. It literally felt like I was going to have a heart attack, I grew up riding of these rides my whole life, and I had been on the old Kwasi a few times, I never liked it cuz it was too shaky and I had a bad experience on it one time. But the iron gwazi was like next level. Unforgettable and so much force plus nowhere to hold onto!

Hell yeah I'm glad we got some Kumba appreciation. That used to be my favorite ride in the park until they built Iron Gwazi. The sheer intensity is insane. I always get tunnel vision at the bottom of the first drop. Its a shame the track is so rough. Everyone I ride with always complains about it. I'm fairly tall, so my head doesn't get banged around in the restraints so much. Which means my favorite coaster always has a short line even on busy days. I just hope they don't end up closing it down. Would be great if they could fix it so that it gets more of the recognition it deserves.
