Hey these videos are very helpful, thanks for all that work. In one of your videos you had a set up with x air 18 wireless mics and DMX in skb 102 I believe but in this demonstration you have mics and dmx separate and no external x air mixer. Does is sound better with x air.
@gfire_productions Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. If I were to set the microphone EQ on my DJ controller and in the XR18 to flat and gain all mics equally. They would all sound the exact same. With regards to making one system sound better the difference here is the DJ controller only has a three band EQ where is the XR 18 has a 31 band EQ. This is where the two becomes separate and I can in fact get a little more surgical with the XR18's EQ versus the DDJ's EQ. 1. If I just need to DJ at any event my DJ case has a dedicated microphone and heavy EQ and is not required in that case. 2. If I have a small band or a ceremony set up that requires multiple microphones the Krackin has a better EQ options and is more versatile for those types of situations than my DJ controller.

I use a hard case modified in the back so I can plug everything into ports on the back on the back of the case. So I have real short cables going from the DJ controller to custom ports, then plug peripherals into said ports so I don’t have to curl around the lip on the back of the case. I use the same controller as you but I have the red one.

ow does the bass sound on these will this sound good in small hall with high ceilings. I got two Samson Expedition old speakers need to do a small halloween party 150 ppl any recommendations for setup. Need the bass to hit hard. One subwoofer or two for small budget. I have the Rane one what wires would I need??
@gfire_productions3 жыл бұрын
Hello creative Species. Thank you for watching the video and supporting our channel. I'll do my best to help you with your questions about speakers. 'm not sure what your budget is but there are plenty of options on a lower tier of speakers when it comes to prices. There are brands like Harbinger, Mackie and EV. I shop at Guitar Center because there are several of them local to where I live but there are other stores also like Pro Audio Star, Zzounds and IDJ Now. If I were going to invest in a budget speaker to accommodate about 150 people I would certainly consider the EV models. But if the lowest price wins then I would get Harbinger. Keep in mind every speaker out there no matter who makes it has certain limitations and capabilities. Now let's talk subwoofers. There is definitely a conflict with hitting hard and low budget. There are many models out there to choose from I personally use QSC K Subs and KW181s which are both discontinued. Again the brands that I mentioned above also make Subs but I'm not sure they are going to hit hard or maybe they will for you. My recommendation is to go into a local music store and demo speakers and choose for yourself what you can afford and what you think hits hard. At the end of it all it is a matter of opinion at some point because we DJs choose brands that we are good with wild one thanks Bass boss is the best another one they think Yorkville is the best. As for the Rane One outputs to powered speakers, you'd need a pair of XLR cables.

Nice video. Great explanation in detail, thanks. Question.. how do you secure the power strip down in the case? I find that the tape on the bottom of the Velcro doesn’t stay secure on the carpet.
@gfire_productions2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Mike. I got some Velcro strips with sticky backs from Home Depot a long time ago. i put one on each end of the power strip which then velcro's to the carpet in the case. It also just happened to work out that that particular power strip fits perfectly in the space provided.

Flight cases make life easier but man they can get heavy. Been looking at soft cases lately. honestly it takes close to the same time to set up. I dont like to leave things plugged in even in a flight case for fear of the outputs getting loose from all the bouncing.

I think you're right on point DJ Rez. I started with a soft case and got a culture shock the I moved to a hard case. I'm used to it now. No issues with the plugs or sockets getting loose though. Thank for watching and supporting bro. Keep the party going.

I’m new to DJing so I only have a Ddj 400 which I’m running through a External mixer , but in time I’m hoping going to upgrade to a DDJ 1000 and I’ve been told I still must use my external mixer with that controller as well. My question is : Is using a mixer a must ? Thank you
@gfire_productions2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my friend. You do not need a second mixer. Most controllers have 2-4 channels to mix with and a dedicated mic input. If you get a DJ 2000 you can output from it straight to powered speakers.

Looks good but you should buy your self a sm mixing board like 6 or 8 ch. This will help your sound and Mics so you dont have to push Speakers to hard and they last longer. Buy a sm booth facade to hide all of your equipment and it looks more professional and clean. If you do a lot gigs like I do U want to look like u take ur business very serious and you make more money and Tips.
@gfire_productions Жыл бұрын
Thank DJ Teddyg1. I don't really use a façade because I don't really like them. I'm more like a 6 foot table type of DJ and it works perfectly fine for me. We have a plethora of business and definitely get tips. Occasionally I do pull out my Yamaha MG06X oh my MG10XU.

Just starting on my DJ journey, what wireless microphone would u recommend
@gfire_productions3 жыл бұрын
Wow there are a number of options out there, I can only recommend what I have personal experience with. Shure QLXD and here is why. I've started out with these Shure PGXD ($449) which sounds absolutely great and did their job well at close range is of course. Eventually though I started having problems with these mics because their antennas are 1/4 wave in are more easily blocked by people in between the receiver and transmitter. These mics are now obsolete so the equivalent replacement would be the Shure BLX. They also have GLX. SLX. Now any microphone does have certain features and capabilities according to your needs so there are a couple ways you can approach this. 1. Get a decent mic like the Shure BLX to start and when you earn money from your events, upgrade later. amzn.to/2QL7efO 2. Go big now with a QLXD and be good for many years to come. amzn.to/3vhQADt

Nice but save time and get a 1 or 2 shallow rack case for that mic so you wont have to set it up, just plug it in, leave the antennas on . I got sleepy watching you set that mic up. Man if you had the Denon Prime 4, you wouldnt have to mess with that laptop---slide out the unit and it will play in less than 5 seconds

No audio mixer?
@gfire_productions2 жыл бұрын
The DDJ SX2 has 4 channels. I use one for my mic, 2 for left & Right turntables, and the last channel for an iPad. The only time I use an external audio mixer is when I need more inputs for additions mics. What's your set up like?
@Redpillenthusiast2 жыл бұрын
@@gfire_productions I'm running all my outputs to an external mixer pretty much a failsafe because I had it happen in the past where my controller takes a dip and nothing is responding so I use my back up and play music from my phone hooked up to the mixer
@gfire_productions2 жыл бұрын
@@Redpillenthusiast you are definitely on point with that thought process. The truth is a DJ controller could go out, thankfully I've had great success over all these years with my DDJ SX2. My back up plan is more like, I can plug my mic directly into one speaker and my iPad in another channel in the same speaker then just daisy-chain it out. Of course that will probably take me about a minute but it is an emergency situation. Your way is more streamlined because if your DJ controller quits then you're more than likely have an iPad or something into your external mixer, that you could just turn the feeder up on and keep the party going faster. I'm pretty sure the same applies for your microphone. Thanks for the feedback though. Keep the party going Alfred.
@Redpillenthusiast2 жыл бұрын
@@gfire_productions bro exactly. Your way is definitely more convenient tho ngl. The mixer also has better preamps than the controllers do too so it gives you more headspace for volume

I do occasionally but usually at live sound related events ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYG3lqyveLZgl5Y ). At weddings I have a separate system dedicated to the ceremony area and in the reception I just use my DDJ connected it directly to powered speakers. ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/epO5eJl6h9Gbfac ).
