World’s Most Dangerous Roads | The Road to Death in the Andes
George comes face-to-face with Bolivia's infamous Death Road (El Camino de la Muerte) or The North Yungas Road. With the road barely wide enough for two vehicles to pass and its terrifying sheer drops this 69 kilometers long stretch of winding road through the Andes mountain chain in Bolivia. It's considered the most dangerous road in the world and a popular tourist destination for mountain bikers. The road was constructed in the 1930s by Paraguayan prisoners during the Chaco War. The road climbs to 4650m above sea level at La Cumbre Pass. Then, it’s a continuous downward stretch toward the Amazon rainforest. If you look off the side of the road, you’re looking down at a 600m drop into the surrounding forest. The road links La Paz with Coroico, a small town at the entrance of the Amazon rainforest.

I think I would take a mule or horse lol and call it good, no way you could get me to drive that, good on you for having a go. The scariest drive I have ever made on a sketch road was with my dad into Bella coola in the 90’s. Like this it was narrow and I remember thinking it would take nothing for the road to give way and we would be lost to the mountain, lol however compared to the this it was practically a freeway. 😂

I was so nervous watching this video. I am glad you made it out alive. I think that people shouldn't risk their lives on those roads. The government should make sure the roads are safe. You've got some guts! Winding roads on mountain sides make me so nervous! Even if they're well paved and guarded! One time, we were heading to perform Mass in B Minor at a mountain top monastery in Slovenia. The view was amazing, we could see into Italy from there. But I hated getting up there and having to go down again afterwards. But enjoyed the singing.
