Probably one of the funniest first 20 minutes of any movie. Keenan Wynn has more one liners in that time than in most movies.

What a fantastic film! I really enjoyed that and I think the humour is still funny today. This film is a timeless classic! I wish black and white films like this would make a big come-back. Good clean fun humour is what the world needs in today's stressful world.

-Karen Blackwood- -Blaine Charlie- Brings great pleasure to hear about two individuals who had the finer things in this life reinforced by their respected parent & grandparent !!! I was blessed to view & discuss these marvelous types of films with my Dad who just passed 2 years ago this month -October 2018-... I miss him so much. Watching & talking about films such as “My Favorite Secretary “ and so many others, in comedy-drama-adventure-tragedy-mystery-musicals-... ALL genre gave us a way to discuss the problems & challenges as well as sorrows, perplexities & triumphs happening in my life but also my Father’s life and my Mother’s life ... How we can relate differently to same circumstances, how we can feel and act or react in the vast variety of situations so well written, directed, acted-out & portrayed and effectively presented in that more golden time when good taste, elegance & style including a certain moral awareness ... all of these characteristics, traits & standards were part of producing films whether of serious matter, comedy, adventure, mystery, musical, etc. Thought provoking character portrayal & observing both excellent & not so excellent actors handle the various well written, produced & directed and badly written, produced & directed films ... including any & all combinations that ultimately end up on the silver screen ... ALL created endless opportunities for great conversation & gave ways to work through the real life stuff of kids & teenagers ... and their parents... (my siblings, me and our parents) ... created good conduits to better understanding & more empathy ... less silence more ways to keep the vital lines of communication open between generations.

Cute comedy, an icon of that era full of classic craftmanship there buddy!! lrene Ryan esp. cute and endearing the way she played her part, ha ha, like a lil kid. Gail Robins! Now that's what I call "And God created WOMAN!" I'll be her Adam any time, with vital enthusiasm! Kirk Douglas, the leader of Typical Son's of Bitches as usual in his part. One of my Boys there! Love him! "Dawn's Yearning" "Beyond Tomorrow" "Time Without Wings" Titles such of these books from many yesterdays ago were so interesting and evocative to just look at and wonder on. Fiction writers now seem not to have that certain wondrous Something to title their books in similar fashion. Oh well. Call me a sentimental slob. I ain't ashamed.

@ 31:46 - the "Universal Law of Attraction" "...if you keep telling yourself you're a failure, you'll be one!" (Likewise "if you keep believing you're a success, you will be one, many, abundantly Successful!") This may be a Comedy, but it has a *"real Writer's undercurrents"* - Hollywood has *always been sneaky (Deeply Artistic) that way, like the Wizard of Oz,* as it speaks to the fact that "we always have what we desire, ... within".

Seeing a woman throw away a great opportunity because of fear her delicate husband's feelings and ego would be hurt, brings back memories as a girl of the 1950's-60's. Women always telling me that I shouldn't make better grades than the boys. A guy I dated got miffed because I got a higher score when we went bowling. Asked why I didn't let him win. Lost respect for him. Thankfully Mrs. Waterbury wised up and went ahead with her book.

LOL..."great man and wonderful man"...you been living under a rock? Kirk Douglas was a good actor, but he also (allegedly) raped Natalie Wood when she was a teenager. He also (allegedly) may have been involved in the murder of a bit actress who appeared in one of his movies. Even if he didn't do either of those things, he was by his own admission pretty crappy to women. Stop believing all the gloss peddled by the media and Hollywood machine. (Nice of you to stand up for the communist Trumbo though.)

"We shall despise and reject Him, and He will be buried with the rich and die with the wicked, and then make intercession for them. Isaiah chapters 52:13-53rd. I prayed, help me Jesus, I am sorry for my sins, enter my heart and be my best friend, amen= John 3 repent and be born again to see the kingdom of heaven, or be in everlasting abhorrence =Jewish scriptures Daniel 12:2. thanks and appreciate the best millions know Him too personally. hehe..great job ty
