I've spent a lot of time on a 4020 John Deere and I guess pick your color. That horsepower range just seems to work well for so much on a small farm. I pull a notill drill or a six row notill planter. It's got plenty of power to pull the baler down the road with a wagon 200 bales full. We used to Hussle chopper wagons with them as well. Yet I can get it into tight places to put equipment away or whatever else. Last summer I had to do some rim repair on my Oliver Super 77 and ended up putting new tubes in and replaced the cloride with washer fluid. I don't think I'll have to worry about those rims and tires for the rest of my life, unless of course I find a deer antler.

Agree 400 is SMTA with better hydraulics and a dash. I have a 2000 loader on my '62 560. I use it every day to feed round bales, push snow, and clean cattle sheds. It lifts most bales, but struggles with wrapped wet bales. If a 2000 loader lifts a ton, be assured a 2001 loader will NOT lift a ton and a pound.

Speaking from experience,I don't believe you would like a 1566 unless you are just going to do heavy tillage with it,they have a 3 spd transmission and your always a gear too low or a gear too high.A 1456 is probably going to be big bucks. The best large frame Farmall ever built was the 1066 and they will match a 14 or 15,hell they are basically the same tractor, but with a 4spd that the 15 doesn't have and a good 1066 that hasn't been beat to death can still be had fairly reasonable.Just MHO,that and a quarter won't get you a cup of coffee. The DT414 in the 1066 will turn whatever power you want it to.
