I think all of our main cast of girls here will end up being the embodiment of some anime/manga trope dialed up to 11, at least at first. Our main girl Koshitan is the reformed former delinquent that is now the perfect girl, but way to eager to please to hide her dark past. Anko Koshi is a major sis-con. I imagine each of the members of the Deer Club will end up being similar with whatever tropes they end up fulfilling. But still , the show is self aware and the absurdity of it all is the point. So far it is pretty damn funny too. Though I've not read the Manga, apparently there is a lot of anime filler content as the Manga is pretty much rapid fire short skits from what I'm hearing. So yeah, with the need to add a lot of filler just to stretch out some chapters to fill an episode, there are for sure going to be some moments that drag on, or some gags that don't land well. That's to be expected here I think.
