I just found your Channel. I find it rare on KZbin now, that a channel will share knowledge & info , without the , "Buy My Merchandise from my Amazon link", & other annoying non restoration related input. Thank you for providing a channel that is informative , enjoyable & relaxing to watch. Thanks again, Rick

Mine was a runner, in excellent shape except it used a lot of oil. This was 1956-1960. A few years later I tore it down and found it had been sleeved..Had a Corvette 283 sitting for it, but my Dad sold it while I was in the Navy. Used the money to buy a 64 Falcon. Had a wife by then..

I've seen my share of Model As built up from parts over the years. If it's done authentically, I don't see a problem. Sometimes a complete car involving one of the more rare body types such as a phaeton or a victoria just cannot be found. I had a friend (now deceased) that built up a very authentic late '31 roadster from a car that had been largely gutted. He found original parts and put together a blue ribbon show car that won trophies at national shows. It was absolutely beautiful. Thanks for saving one of the more rare Model As!

Worth a lot more than that in Australia. My late '31 Briggs Slant Town Sedan 160B in Concourse condition, as mine is, is insured for $85,000 AUD. But it has won a lot of shows!

Model A's are surprisingly hard to get MARC quality parts for high point restorations, but are also kind of a nice blessing that you can get usually something functional if not better to keep you running down the road - at times it sure beats the stuff with totally unobtainium for parts.

Subbed and clicked the notification bell a long time ago. This is the first notification I have received in "years". Interested and anxious to see the Model A restoration but hope it won't take "forever". Not being a A.H. since I own projects that still don't run and are 22 and +- 40 years old. Just don't have that kind of time to wait. ;o) At 77, I have loved Model A's since age 13. Owned a few along the way. Currently, the 22 year old project is a 29 CCPU that was purchased as a "Hot Rod" basket case. Was all pieces. Some/many, not worth keeping. Hope to get that running in the next 2-3 years. Will definitely "stay tuned" for this Victoria series !!!

I have a 31 Victoria (steel back, indented firewall) that is in very similar shape including the spare tire damage to the bustle. One in this condition requires finding all the unique Victoria parts like the rear splash apron, floor pan, shorter windshield frame, correct seats, window risers for the “long” doors etc. except for the floor pan and front seats, these are not common except a couple of other Model A body styles. It has taken several, several years to find these unique parts.

Excellent video. This is my first view of any of your videos. I'm very much looking forward to the other episodes about the Model A Victoria. We have a 1931 S/W 160B Town Sedan. It seems like a conundrum when the course of action is to acquire only a restored Model A since it's not economical to restore them. How will unrestored Model A's get restored in the future? What are your thoughts? Thank you.

Thanks for doing a Model A! I have a '29 Phaeton. It is an older restoration that I have rehabbed. You're right; the economics are often just not there anymore to restore some of these cars. But if one loves the cars, it can be great fun. I have tried to sell mine and have found the interest level certainly is not what it once was. Look forward to this series. How is the restoration of the '32 Packard Coupe/Roadster going?

When this is done will you in good conscience claim that it is really a 1931 Ford? Like the guy who owns George Washington's hatchet, handle has been replaced three times and the head twice but he still thinks it is somehow connected to GW. For your next fake-up, find a Duesenberg rear view mirror and build a car around it - don't forget the 350 crate engine for full originality.
@mainthink4 жыл бұрын
You reached a conclusion with a rather big jump, from just a few minutes of introductory footage. How would you know that he does not have every single era-correct part from the early thirties? There are such things as fully rebuilt, period correct classic cars. Your GW hatchet analogy is on point but I don't know that it applies to this car. It is obviously not a 1931 complete car with matching numbers being restored with the goal of retaining every possible original part. It's a build project starting from a 1931 body. Your question implies that you have already decided how this car will be presented (and sold?) in the future.
@bigredc2224 жыл бұрын
The only time it matters is if you're going to sell it, you're honest with prospective buyers.
@seanfyodorovich52304 жыл бұрын
Should he just send it off for scrap then? These people don't have to provide you with free entertainment you know. This guy is obviously busy enough owning and running a business like this without the additional countless hours spent filming and editing videos. Perhaps if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't say anything at all.
