Wow! I consider gel to be the final step...the “sealer/seal it all in” kind of thing. And my hair would NOT tolerate touching when it’s drying/not dripping any more. You’re lucky...I can’t even use a diffuser w/o frizzing...I require a hooded dryer. High maintenance!

Awesome video! Two questions- fury do you find you have to use quite a bit of the no poo? And second- if you had to cut it down to maybe two or three of the styling products do you think you could get the same effect? Wondering which are absolutely necessary. Thanks xoxo!

Yes, since the no poo doesn't lather, I like to use a good amount to make sure that it's distributed to my whole scalp. And if I had to cut the products to 2 or 3, let's say 3, I'd choose the B'Leave In, the wave maker, and the ultra defining gel. Those might be my top 3 favorites and would give great results together. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

What is the difference between the Ultra Defining gel and the Light defining gel? I don't know what to get! I have same hair as u but afraid it looks crunchy with the UDG. You have a beautiful Devacut ☺️

Your hair is beautiful but that routine uses an insane amount of time and product. Would need a second mortgage to buy all those products! And then you gotta do makeup.....BUT, again, you do look lovely.

It has taken me all this time to figure out that I also have a looser curl-- much like yours--and can't use products that are too heavy! DUH !! :) LOL Would you say your curls are type 3A? That is what I think mine are...looser, "fatter curls" that can frizz and also, the curl can be easily lost without the right products. Right? So, is that why you use more "gel" types of products!? It is like the light is finally on and I can see in the dark !! Thanks for your video, it is so nice to find hair like yours !! Woohooo !!!

So B'Leave-In is better than the Super Cream? I don't know which one to choose.. your tips would help me before buying these products.. you have amazing hair btw!

Thank you! I wouldn't say it's better, because they both do different things. The B-Leave-In is just a leave in gel to moisturize and give volume to your hair. The Super Cream is for styling your hair so it also moisturizes, but it has a stronger hold for defining the curls.

thank you! so the difference between the two is just that the light defining gel's hold isn't as strong. The ultra defining gel has a stronger hold and I find that my curls are better definined with the ultra

Love this! I'm having issues with the Deva Curl styling products flaking off in my hair...have you experienced this at all?

Thank you! No I have never had that issue before. It could be the way that you're applying it? Or maybe using too much product? Try applying it on soaking wet hair, then scrunching out the excess water with a t-shirt then air dry or diffuse.

Thank you! I'm not exactly sure if DevaCurl encourages that or not, it's just what I do and it works for me. I don't do that every time though, most times I detangle with my fingers.

hipretty Deva Curl stylist do not use brushes or combs. Only their fingers.

i use a wet brush. its specifically made for detangling wet curly hair but use it while u have conditioner on

Joy, I love love your hair-you are so pretty! I appreciate how you go through all these steps esp. because hair is so important for curly girls and I feel it makes you or breaks you! Well, I noticed how nice your hair color is as well. I recently went to my salon and came out with stripes! Yikes! You know what I mean? I would love my stylist to do the coloring you have. What do you ask for as far as coloring and also what cut does your stylist do? Help!!

Aw thanks! My hair is different now than in this video, but back then I got blonde chunky highlights, and my roots were kept my natural dark brown hair color

When you diffuse, what setting are you using on the blow dryer? Warm or cool, low or high?

I use the warm temp on the lowest fan speed, and sometimes alternate between warm and hot if I'm in a rush

How does the devacurl smell? Does it leave a good smell on your hair or it's faint

It smells a little bit like lime, but once it's dry you can't smell it anymore. The only product that has a lasting scent is their volumizing foam which smells soo good, more of like a fruity scent

How do you keep your curls from not shrinking? Is the product? I have same hair length, haircut and texture, but they shrink...:'( I use Cantu*

It depends on your curl type. Mine is 3a so my curls don't shrink that much. If your curls are tighter then they probably shrink more. When applying the product, smooth it down with the "praying hands method" using your two hands to stretch your hair. Don't scrunch it and see if that helps

You can also use heavy creams and conditioners to stretch and weigh down your curls. And if you want, avoid scrunching.
