A lot of you have been wondering about my diagnosis last year and what it means, how it manifests itself and how I deal with it - so I sat down and tried to cover most of what I think you might find interesting and or helpful!! Remember these are my subjective thoughts and experiences ❤️

I love how real you are. You interact with us, and don't portray yourself in some artificial light. Also not easy to be so vulnerable to the whole world.

I too have BPD. had my diagnosis for about 3/4 years now. My therapy was the best help I could find. There's still days and moments of struggles but it can get better. Proud of you for not only talking about it (I think BPD and Bipolar II are not as often talked about). But more so for going and getting that help. Shows strength in character to do that and I wish you luck and strength in the path ahead.

Someone I loved very much once told me, "You are either way up here, or way down there. There's no in between with you." That's the simple way to put it. I am almost 65 and still going through it.

Thank you for making this. I have been struggling with going back to therapy and truly delving into my past... But, I'm turning 30 this year, and I never thought I would make it this long... so I figure I owe it to myself to see it through the right way. Thank you for sharing your story 💜

We're by your side Janet, we respect your openness and strength and your personality. Diagnoses are not you, do not define you and change nothing in how you are valued and cared for by your fans. ❤

We? Who made you speaker of anything? And btw. diagnosis like this DO tell a lot about you and mostly DO define who you are, so don't speal about things you clearly do NOT understand.

@@Eysenbeiss Thanks for your reply, even though it's a little hostile in tone unfortunately. Yes "we" the people who are fans of Janet's music and her honest and frank dialogue about her mental health difficulties. Are you lost? Are you even a fan of Janet Devlin or just your common internet troll?
@lunalovesnature
@lunalovesnature 11 ай бұрын
@Eysenbeiss they do not define you as in they are not your fault, and you can do something about it, it can get better and you can learn to control them and not let them define you. Words like yours can and will take away the hope sufferers are looking for, which can end in them commiting suicide, so be careful what you say. Also, nobody said that you are meant to be included in that "we", so if you don't wanna be part of it, don't give it a like and just scroll past it

Life on easy mode is a concept I can't fathom, even though I see happy people all the time. The whole "fear of rejection" thing is very real and is what makes me who I am. I've gotten so accustomed to "no" that I just stopped trying rather than put myself through the pain repeatedly. Anyways, I didn't mean to ramble on about myself; I just wanted to say that even though I don't really understand the nuances to your diagnosis, I can relate to what you've said, and I thank you for sharing. If not me, I'm sure someone out there watching this will get the final push they need to seek help/diagnosis of their own.

It's easy for people to demonize something when they don't really know how it is to go through it or live with it. Many people just don't want to get diagnosed over fear having some of this problems which the world think they are such evil things. But it's great that you decided to do it and that you finally found stability in your life, mental health is as important physical health! It can be seen in your eyes and your expressions that you are relieved and ready for whatever this brings, sending my best wishes from Argentina to you in this new path in life!!! Cheers!

i am so pleased you got a diagnosis Janet, i have autism and finally soon i will get a diagnostic test, which i am so relieved, i've struggled my whole life to fit in and to socialise, i have melt downs of anxiety when i am out and to explain its so dam hard, you are very brave for sharing this, it sounds like you went onto burn out, i do this often and i find i can't play music, i can't make jewelry, all i do is sit in the room and stare and watch life go by, i write lyrics during this time to get through it, so i don't bottle them all up and turn my pain into something productive, but thats all i can seem to do, i'm glad you have the right medications, its vital and always practice self care, rest when you need to, say no when you need to rest and look after yourself, big hugs from me :)

It's truly inspiring to hear you! The first part of self-help is to truly understand who and what you are, to not reject a diagnosis but to embrace it and try and understand what that means for yourself, that allows you to begin to heal and become who you are truly meant to be! You are loved and again are truly inspirational!
