If one is to own a Panerai, the 233 would be the one to own. I thought about adding another Rolex (or insert ANY other brand name here) and they all just look very similar. But, with Panerai, you won't have that issue. Now, I wouldn't buy a BNIB Panerai from a Boutique, but picking one up on the secondary market wouldn't be too much fuss.

Nice video. I owned a nice Panerai once, but sold it. Feeling like I might acquire one again in the next 18 months. Being an Italian citizen, I feel like its almost obligatory :)

To avoid fakes, get one with a service record or still under warranty. -Regarding the elements: I found that even some more expensive models didn't have the sandwich dial just a short time ago, but they seem to have introduced a hierarchy now. The entry level models have inlaid dials and the more expensive ones have a sandwich dial - that's how it should be.

I used to love Panerai. When they came with the 42mm Submersible, I was thrilled. But that changed. I don’t know why, but now I feel like the brand is missing something. Can’t put my finger on it.

Because they are about size. That’s their USP. It’s ok to buy a bigger Panerai. That’s the point.

If I had to own just 1 Panerai, I think the PAM 233 would be in the top 5 contenders. It certainly embodies the best of the Panerai DNA, while still being a manageable size, and a useful set of complications. I have a PAM 200 with that movement and it is easily my favorite Panerai movement (though the JLC 877 in my PAM 190 does give it a run for its money). That said, I cannot imagine owning just 1! My current PAM tally is double-digits, with still a handful more to acquire. The PAM 233 is actually likely to be the next addition. I have 4 Luminor already, but none in GMT, a complication that I am increasingly finding indispensable. Now I just need to find one at a decent price and with no Chinese "influence"!

Panera is like Maserati. Hated by some, loved by some. Beautiful name that strikes up Magic. Almost certainly not as good as the competition mechanically but devilishly Charming if you like them. Tend to lose half their value fairly quickly. I don't have one yet but, personally, I love them and can't wait to get mine!

Love my PAM 2392. At 42mm it fits perfectly. It’s easy to wear and with sandwich dial and exhibition case back it has everything it should. There are few watches on the market that offer iconic instantly recognizable style and an in-house movement for less money. The only negative is, with the domed crystal and polished bezel it’s easy to damage. You can’t bang it around like a Rolex or Breitling. It does not wear its battle scars proudly.

Almost 7 yrs ago I had the fortune to try on the Panerai PAM233 and the Rolex Sub no date. I always remember how I actually preferred how the case of the Panerai felt on my 7 inch wrist. I also LOVED the felling of just grasping the watch in the palm of my hand. The soft full shape of the crystal balanced by the sharp edges of the stainless steel crown guard. Not many talk about the “sensual pleasures “of these classic Panerai watches. This is why there are these fanatics. No other watch comes close to offering these uniquely “tactile pleasures”. Although I’m financially satisfied I went with the Rolex (which at the time, for which I actually negotiated a small discount!… unheard of these days) and I would have been a Fool to have not purchased the Rolex, however I will always remember how intimate and special this PAM233 felt and one day I am certain I will buy one previously owned. I loved the sandwich dial concept and pure balance over all.

I have been intrigued by the brand for a long time. Now that I've seen one up close (at a boutique), I am convinced the Panerai offereings provide tremendous value - for the person / watch enthusiast that is willing to spend this type of money. Love the brand, and I'm looking at the 42mm GMT w/3 day reserve. I prefer to buy straight from an authorized dealer in order to ensure authenticity. Worth the money. Thanks for an awesome video!

I like the 3-6-9 sandwich dial, case and unique crown guard on some Panerai models. I also prefer 42-44mm watches. My plan is to turn my pocket watch into a Panerai style watch. This way I get family heritage and a style of watch I like. Someday, I’ll buy an original.

Beautiful watch! Great complications, tremendous value . Where else can you buy a watch with so much presence on the wrist with this kind of power reserve, GMT, AM/PM display, date, display back ? I just purchase the 1321 from a boutique last week and have not been able to wear any of my other watches. Panarai is coming back, atleast you can go into a dealer and buy one and not sit on a wait list and buy jewelry you don’t want just to be considered for a sport Rolex.

In fact, my 5th Pam arrived last week. I find the design completely alluring. Also, I agree, my favourite case style is the Radiomir too. Great content, glad I’ve discovered your channel. Subbed. I had my best professional experience in Italy years ago! My office was Piazza di Spagna! An Italian friend introduced me to Panerai in 1999! I became à Panerai enthusiast because it tells a very unique story and has an authentic military history! The only brand that is connected to technology deployment in countries and operations (wars) in Continents, including Europe (WWII) and Africa (Ethiopia, Egypt). Panerai is very accurate by telling the time. But what I like the most is storytelling and definition of character! My journey in life is a journey of adversity, battles, courage and resilience! Now I live in Thailand! I bought a Bronzo! It was not enough ... I went to Chatuchak market to find an original Italian military jacket! Even Italian military outfits are fashionable, that’s why they didn’t win any wars 😅 But it’s cool! Rolex can’t come close! Maybe Jaegger Lecoultre reverso. In times of duty, aventures, combats, adversity and challenges a Panerai is a reminder that you should be ready and not give up! A watch for the courageous and the brave! There’s more fake Rolex than Panerai and still Rolex is overpriced! The definition of Fake has changed. It’s not about the watch. It’s about the character of the person who wears a watch 😎 Grazie👊🏽

@genie53202 жыл бұрын
Well i am always on the hunt for value propositions. And given how the brand has been beaten down in recent years, i think the 1950 8 days or 10 days gmt is quite a good deal. For the amount of features, 100m wr, date, gmt, long power reserve for 6,500 euro in the secondary market seems to be a pretty decent deal. But sadly alot of these are not full sets. So, buying one isnt an issue but may be, if one chooses to sell.
