Gday mate, been watching since your first Hyperflame videos and that’s what prompted me to buy one. Just wanted to show my appreciation for your craftsmanship. You take the time, you prep the area and it looks like you take the utmost care. Of all the KZbinrs I’ve watched do DIY I don’t think I’d want anyone else working on my own vehicle. Congrats so far and best of luck on your first trip in the new rig.

We started using those plastic draws over 20 years ago in our old Pathfinder & still use the inside draws to drop into our slide draws in our Patrol. They have been all over Australia from 12 Simpson crossings, 15 High Country, to the Canning Stock Route. We pack them at home & drop them in - quick & easy as a "Day box" - ""Cooking Box" etc.

looks amazing mate, some great idea's there. One suggestion I would make, if that vinyl doesn't last, get some thin stainless sheets cut to size and stick them down.... highly durable, very good for preping and cleaning on (essentially don't need cutting boards then). Just a thought :)

@TheBraddles822 жыл бұрын
Hey mate I’m quite inspired by that build, however I am concerned you don’t have enough space between the stove and the box to the left of it. I realise you didn’t build a house, but for interest in a house there’s a distance of 200mm required between the edge of a gas cooktop and a combustible material.
@JasondenHollander-qj5hp19 күн бұрын
A vinyl benchtop. At nipple height. But thankfully you added that little postage stamp at the end. Lots of nice unnecessary carpet added on panels to absorb cooking smells you can enjoy for years and years. Oh boy.

Great build, Just one question. Where is the kitchen sink? 🤣
@explorebound2 жыл бұрын
Haha I knew I forgot something!! 😅 The long term plan for this setup is to have a large water tank mounted under the tray so an in-canopy sink wasn't as neccessary, for our recent trip we used a collapsable sink unit which we setup on the rear undertray drawer to use.

What was the thickness of the aluminum tubing you used? Was this EZ tube that you used?? Thank you
@trentburchard28302 жыл бұрын
hey daniel it’s looks sick what do you think the rough price of it would be all up
@explorebound2 жыл бұрын
Close to $800 for everything including the stove (both sets of drawer runners were $300 by themselves!). That was buying most materials at Bunnings though, and a few people have commented that it's far cheaper going to aluminium suppliers so could no doubt shave a bit of the cost off there. 🙂
@chiefwacuta Жыл бұрын

This is a fantastic set up, your videos are very comprehensive and I love your channel. Do you happen to know the weight overall of this kitchen?
@explorebound2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate appreciate that!! Hmm I don't have an exact weight unfortunately but the entire frame was extremely lightweight, could easily lift it with one hand. The only heavy componants were the wooden benchtops (could be replaced by folded aluminium to save weight), and the drawer slides which were quite heavy.

The first time I’ve ever regretted listening to you: Goliath slides from Bunnings. Literally - JUNK. A horrible to use product. Everything else you do is amazing, but this was a disaster.
@explorebound Жыл бұрын
Which brand to use for each part comes down to personal preference I guess mate - I’ve used Goliath runners for multiple projects and never had any issues, pretty happy with them for the price. I’m assuming you‘ve had a bad experience with them, so you might want to look at more premium runners instead.
