From one bereaved mom to another, I send a huge hug. To have lost your beautiful child and to have Lily barking constantly must press you into an unimaginable state. Thank God you got some help. And what a wonderful support group you've got. Some friends head for the hills because they can't handle it. These friends are angels. Helping to support Lily in her grief too. A mother's pain of grief never leaves. But it does ease with time and lots of greif work. Bless your dear Jessie forever. ❤

Thank you for helping this dear woman and her sweet dog, Lilly. After what they've been through, it's lovely to see them both have some peace return to their lives. My sister not long passed, I live with my mother, who is elderly, I promised my sister before she passed that I would - of course - take care of her, now semi-senior, rescue kitty, Honey. My sister was SO HAPPY to know that Honey cat would be with me after she passed as she already knew that Honey happens to adore me, always has. When I mentioned bringing Honey cat home after talking with my sister's widowed husband, who is unable to - & doesn't really want to keep her - & was going to put her down I her can't rehome her. He didn't know about the agreement I made with my sister to take her quiet, sweet, affectionate cat (8 yrs old) , - I then mentioned it (at the wrong time) to my mother, who said "absolutely not, no cats!" (She's had cats & dogs all her life. She doesn't even know about the fact that her first born child (my sister, who just passed) was over the moon to know that me (her beloved sister, we were always very close), I would always be looking after Honey and she would NEVER be put down. She still doesn't know this was the wish of her darling daughter. Whenever I've tried to start talking to mum about my sister's wishes for Honey - and the fact that she was terrified of Honey being put down after she passed - mum just ignores me, or talks over the top of me. I don't know what to do, I don't have long to save Honey😢

Is honey saved? Or you put her down?😢

Tell your mum either she accepts your decision to keep the cat as you promised your sister, or your selfish mother can move into a retirement home🙄

I'm sorry for your loss and the hardship that you've gone through. We often forget that animals grieve as well, and I think the barking was Lily's way of letting you know that she misses your daughter and wants some attention. I'm so glad that Graham came to help you both, and now you'll be able to comfort each other the way you should have in the first place. Best wishes and love from Australia ❤

Get that from a lot of Beagle owners. "Gosh, this dog that was specifically bred to be loud... is very loud." Yes. It's how they deal with anything even slightly surprising or stressful.

Hello Elaine. My journey has not been as dramatic as yours but I can truly understand your utter despair. I spent months in hospital in London after contracting Covid. I woke from a coma paralysed (partially recovered). I thought there would be a concerted effort to rehabilitate me but I was only offered a reablement package which is short term. I know things in Scotland are different but I'm keen to know what kind of after support you were offered after such traumatic injuries both physical and mental. You mention that your therapy had just stopped and I'm interested to know how long your physio package was. I sincerely hope you continue to improve. If you are not up to answering I will understand. With best regards from Eric in London.
