Before anyone accuses me of abusing my dog, please keep the following in mind. It has been -40 degrees here in Michigan with lots of ice and snow. Many put ice melt on the sidewalks which will literally make paw pads bleed and blister. It’s basically like walking on acid. Not to mention indoor dog paws are not made to withstand such cold temperatures. Frost bite can happen in less than 10 minutes which is less time than it takes Tucker to find a spot to use the bathroom. The boots keep his paws warm and safe. In fact, it would be abuse to NOT make him wear boots. This video showcases his first time in the boots. We gave him lots of treats and time to get used to them in the house before going outside. He now loves them so much! So please keep any negative comments to yourself. Thank you.

As a human, I have ADHD and related sensory processing disorder. I was born with lesions on my prefrontal cortex that limit my impulse control and ability to regulate what my brain pays attention to. I also have differences in the neurotransmitter dopamine (dopamine deficit, oddly shaped dopamine, or both--the research is still undecided) that further affect my brain's ability to regulate attention and the brain's overall ability to regulate itself and the nervous system (e.g., achieve balance through homeostasis). This means that my brain, nervous system, and body have a hard time regulating and balancing themselves. I understand that a neurotypical human might go out hiking and notice the uncomfortable sensations as they occur. They feel their socks getting wet, they feel the scratches from plants and bug bites, etc. When my brain is stimulated by an activity I enjoy, like hiking, it ignores everything else. When I am out in nature, I literally do not feel bug bites and plant scratches and wet socks and mud and dirt all over my skin. I only feel them when I get inside and am bored again. Then they are the only thing I can feel, and it can quickly become overwhelming. As a child, I would have a meltdown (immediately sobbing until my mom came to help me). As an adult, I can keep it together long enough to sort myself out. I assume dogs feel the same way. When they're outside, they don't feel the unfamiliar sensation of the boots. When they're inside and bored, it's all they can feel and it can be overwhelming.

Before I knew that, I (as well as a lot of other people) thought it was a fashion thing, like people who dress up their animals in costumes because it looks funny. If I had a dog, I’d probably would’ve carried them around outside then, spend as little time outside as possible and stay inside where it’s a much better temperature. Dunno if I’ll ever use shoes like this if I get a dog, or if I’ll just carry them to prevent them from stepping onto the hot/cold pavement.

Is it true that dogs must use their natural paws, but remember that it depends of the conditions! Here in Latinoamérica is almost a crime to walk your dog when the temperature is high, their paws could get damaged. These boots are special for winter and cold places. Here in Mexico, we had a popular dog named Frida that used boots because she worked as a rescue dog when recently an earthquake affected our country. So before judging I think we should think if there are conditions that require those boots. Sorry for my bad English

Anybody telling you you’re abusive for putting those on your dog is abusing their dog or so extremely ignorant about the situation they’ve never even owned one. If you are having your dog walk on various surfaces and elements including, as you mentioned, freezing temperatures, they *need* those shoes. I love going on hikes, so does my dog, so we moved to Colorado but dust and rocks hurt dogs’ pads so I had to buy her those exact same shoes because one of her paws almost bled one day from rubbing on rock while hiking. You also need them for the extremely hot or cold cement/asphalt if you live in a city

And it also depends on the breed. Like yes a husky would be able to handle the snow perfectly fine for example but some other non cold weather breeds wouldn't. And there's the risk of frostbite and they put some chemical that melts the snow which will literally make the dogs paws bleed and blister so please stop spreading false info when you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Misinformation can be dangerous. I really hope you don't own a dog since you seem to think all of them can just handle everything. Why would you make your dog wear them? For the record I don't force feed my dog vegan food that's stupid and retarded. Just because humans are omnivores doesn't mean that all animals are omnivores too. You should feed an animal according to what that specific animals diet requires. Wolves (and most animals really) aren't staying out in those temperatures. And living in a state where they salt roads doesn't make you some expert on road salt. It is a fact that road salt is damaging to dog's paws, you can deny it all you want, that just makes you an idiot.
@EndertheDragon09223 жыл бұрын
@@Ozark-nq9uu ah, yes, because animals have a natural immunity to unnatural materials like the ice salt. How about you go outside in the snow or in blistering heat on concrete for about 10 minutes and tell us how you fare? If you want to, you can get your foot pads used to walking barefoot for a few months beforehand. It won’t make a difference. The dog literally has to go out. This is a temporary accommodation to keep him safe. They will be removed once he has used the bathroom, and his feet will be free. Besides, the dogs just aren’t used to things on their feet, they get used to it. Please, never own a dog, you fucking imbecile.

It also helped him on bacation when we went to the beach. The first time he went we arrived almost at night so he was able to walk normally on the sand, the next day, we opened the door that take us directly to the beach and he got out running in the hot sand. He actually burned his paw and was really uncomfortable on the rest of trip because even when the outside área was not that hot it hurted him. The next year we took him with his boots and it worked perfectly. He still was not able to stay that long on the beach since he is albino and his skin is really sensitive but he didn't got hurt this time
