I agree. I feel so blessed that Pollux’s not only got a forever home he got the best n many ways plus a “big” brother. I wish I had the money to train & have a backyard etc. I miss having a back yard 4 my dog and 4 me when it’s cold and icy. Enjoy.

Things did not work out with Jackson. He wanted to bite me. Donnie , the other pit bull mix, was too much for me to handle but very friendly. I did not want to take Clay, becausd he would be a perfect fit for a family with young children, and that is who took him. He was not there very long. The last weekend in November our police department picked up a dog. I can't believe no one claimed him. HSOC called me after a week. He liked me right away, and I brought him home that day. He is super sweet, well behaved, knows how to sit, but cannot walk on a leash. We'll work on it. See his picture at hsoc.org. Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year, everyone. Virginia in Ohio

I cracked up every time you mentioned "walk" and they both stopped dead in their tracks to look at you. I don't know how you were able to walk, muchless run, talk, and take a video at the same time. That's really impressive! I think it would be fun to do an end of year video of a look back at highlights of your first year with Pollux, though there are probably too many moments to choose from. It has been quite an adventure to watch as an outsider, I can only imagine the special moments and day-to-day time with both Pollux and Maxxie. Thank you for letting us into your home and life. Renee, 2 things that will help.. First, don't get him all excited before going on the walk. That sets him up to Get Out The Door and Excited to RUN.. like he does in the back yard.. you get him all worked up then say don't pull LOL .. They learn by our signals which means you also have to calm down and not be all super excited before the walk..

Hi Renee! When the boys go up to a lamp post or mailbox and smell, they are checking their pee-mail. Then they respond to pee-mail by peeing on said lamp post or mailbox! It's there way of having a discussion! Lol.

So lovely to see Pollux's progress! I hope you get to the point where you can walk them together 😊 My neighbours are amazed that I can walk my two adult wolfhounds together (that's 2x 200lbs of dog!) but it's the result of a lot of individual leash work over time. Takes dedication, but when I get to the point where they both walk side by side on the sidewalk in front of me, no pulling (but lots of stops to smell and pee on bushes!), it's a joy!

They are so cute when you mention the word "walk" ! The looks they give you are priceless! I am pretty sure Pollux was trying to tell you that he didn't remember going on a walk & felt like he should be able to join you & Maxie. Just a suspicion... I once had a dog that rolled on a dead seal when I was walking on the beach. The smell was awful but luckily with the ocean waters a few steps away, I was able to get him in it for a good soak & the smell came right off. All I had to do was dry him up! Dodged the bullet on that one!
