When I watch your videos, I'm reminded how worthwhile it is to take the time to make the miniatures with care. Thanks for sharing your very precise techniques.

Thanks Suzanne. I totally agree with you - it's going to be in your dolls house forever, so it's worth spending time on. :)

I don't know what it is about your videos, you've got me crocheting again and I have even made some tiny sampler type thingies for my witches cottage. I think you really have a knack of making things sound appealing and are really good at getting information across at the same time...you should be a teacher because most of them would love to have your X factor!

Thank you so much, that's lovely to hear. I'm glad you've been inspired to get crocheting again! It's a lovely hobby. :)

Lovely little mat, I can see myself planning a stupidly complex rug in that technique!

Lovely! My grandmother use to do embroidery (pillow cases, wall decor, etc.), and she was so good at it that the back looked exactly like the front. Thanks for the tutorial!

That's lovely. I certainly need more practice, but do find it enjoyable. :)

My doormat is coiled up in a beautiful corkscrew shape despite using a frame and not over tensioning! Then again it was a piece of aida left over from the edge of a previous project which has lost all its stiffness from being squashed while that project was worked and held on the hoop so I think I'll iron it and use fabric glue for the edges, hopefully that straighten it out a bit!
@JulieWarren5 жыл бұрын
If you are planning on placing it permanently, you could use glue or double-sided tape to stick it into place.

Excellent! But I can guarantee you that this is one project I'll not be attempting! According to my eyes, my days of needlework (particularly needlepoint/petite point ) are long over. And there is no arguing with your eyes when they refuse to even perk up a little with new specs, etc. But rest assured, I will find a substitute mat for my service entry. Thanks for sharing this.

If I may offer a hint - if your eyes are not up to this, you can make a good doormat by cutting a piece of light brown leather, and turning it over so that the suede side is uppermost. I rubbed the middle of mine with abrasives and a smudge of dirty paintbrush water to make it look well used.

LOL! Julie, I have a lovely little needle point rug I bought at a garage sale. It curls up; now I know why. Do you know if there is anything I can do to prevent this? Love your little mat.
@JulieWarren5 жыл бұрын
I use starch when making larger rugs, but you could try a little bit of double sided tape and stick it in place.

Hello Julie iv just started renovating my dolld house and your videos have been so helpful!! But what I would love help with before starting anything is mainly the wiring for the lights? How do you do the lighting in your dolls house? Thanks xx
@JulieWarren5 жыл бұрын
My dolls house came with copper wiring already fitted for the lighting, so I'm afraid I don't have any videos showing how to do that.
