Congratulations Gabriel !! What you did (avoiding compulsory buying and holding until finding what you were looking for) shows true character. Well done and enjoy that beauty for many many years. As the guardian and protector of jewels, now you have two treasures: the 335 and that Boca Juniors shirt signed by the players!!

Nice guitar man! That’s a guitar for life. There’s a 335 for sale here in Nz at the moment which is 10 serial numbers away from Claptons, so very likely the very next 335 made after EC’s. The other 9 serial numbers in between might been LP’s or whatever. The guy wants $50k NZD for it which feels high to me.

Thanks Nick!! That’s about 30k usd, seems about right I think.

You like Larry Carlton just a bit lol. It's one of the main reasons we want a 335 to be honest. in 2023 I wanted one not vintage it's above my pocket. I pulled the trigger after playing different 335s and actually went with a new 345 instead. I traded in a few guitars for it and didn't miss any of them. What a guitar! The guitar can do it all. So easy to play, rings like a bell, is warm or crisp, and can get mad if you want it to. The acoustics sound great even unplugged hanging around just to grab and play. I think most people are overlooking how great a guitar that it is, the entire 335, 345, and 355 series. I own a CS R8 that is my #1 Les Paul but my 345 fights it in every way. Your guitar is great and I believe you won't trade that one for anything.
@GabrielBergman955 ай бұрын
Thanks Michael! It really is such a versatile guitar like you mentioned. I took it to a lesson yesterday, and it was so loud I just used it acoustically! You have a good collection, Les Paul and 345! That’s all you need!!

I got a real 64 Cherry just like yours - but it was a Bigsby only (no STP holes) and it too sounds like this one - got it from the original owners daughter and its such a sweet guitar.

Oh that’s awesome!! This one, under the custom made plaque, has the holes, but the original owner filled it with like wood shavings lol. Gonna re drill them and put the stoptail piece soon!

I've owned three-two red ones and one in sunburst from the 60's. I would probably still own one except that I found a superior guitar that costs much less...The Eastman T-185. Made of solid woods, has 25" scale on an EBONY board (what you want!) 1.75" at the nut, 12" radius, etc.

there will be the 'snakebite'. The holes where the bigbsy was, as well as the holes around the strap button (also from the bigsby)

Wondering you got that for 800-1000$? A vintage 1965?, or am I bugging that they aren't expensive. Unless its a Re-issue. like 2017 or something.
@GabrielBergman955 ай бұрын
Sorry? Not sure I understand the question.

u said you traded the prs 2021 price for that vintage es-335, so a 800$ guitar for a 12-15k guitar?
@n01CK5 ай бұрын
if it is a actual vintage 1965 which ya made it seemed, only 1965 i could find is 15k, 66-69 is like 7-8k but 1965 and below are oldies to find since Les Paul bodies were favored heavily in new age rock of 65’+
@GabrielBergman955 ай бұрын
Well, I sold a 2016 super eagle, not a 2021 prs model. The super eagle was a limited edition of 100 made for John Mayer in 2016. Crazy enough and lucky enough, selling the super eagle covered the full price of this 335. Vintage from 1965 all original . Hope this clarifies!
@GabrielBergman955 ай бұрын
Yes , vintage , early 1965. Had all 1964 specs like mentioned in the video. Chrome hardware, proper nut width, proper headstock angle, and patent number pickups
