Y’all should definitely start a hiring program. I’ve wanted to learn about ranching all my life but the area of Florida I live in, there is no availability or anyone willing to take the time to teach you. Y’all seem very humble and I hope many blessings come your way.

Nice truck! I always go with Chevy or Dodge as well. I had a 34 year old Chevy until two years ago when the engine literally ate itself and I gave the body to a couple of kids whose Dad just passed away but he had that same year diesel with a good engine and I had kept mine immaculate so they wanted to put their Dad's engine in my old truck's body and have a truck like their Dad had, so I just gave it to them. I have two Dodge 2500s now because I couldn't find the Chevy I wanted locally (the one you found) so I went with a 2nd gen Dodge(1999), and boy I won't that mistake twice. I have put thousands worth of parts into it to make it a reliable hauler for me. I recently found a thrashed 3rd gen(2003) for dirt cheap and bought it and repaired it and it is a WAY better truck than my 2nd gen has ever been. Congrats on finding and buying that Chevy, it should last you many many years.

You always do your homework and back it up. Nice truck. I'm in the market for a 'new to me' truck and you gave me food for thought. Thanks. Always enjoy watching.

I have an 05 Chevy K3500 Duramax, it has been a great truck. It has 290k miles and still going strong. I kept it for a beater after buying a 2017 Chevy K3500 Duramax, that should take me across the finish line. It is hard to beat a diesel engine for hauling horses around the west. Good luck your your new to you truck.

In the market for a new, bigger truck than my F150. I was all set on a new RAM, but I just can't spend $85k on a truck. Found a few nice, low mileage 4th gens for under $60k and that's likely the route I'll go. Plus, no warranty to worry about when the emissions stuff accidentally falls off....

Found a pretty solid unicorn there brother! Best of luck with it

Man, I tell you what. I'm Born and raised from Pennsylvania joined the military when i was 18 and currently has 12 years of service. Been to Afghanistan twice and Iraq once. I would die to to be able to come out here and work. All I wanted to do my entire life was work the fields but never was able to come upon the land or a mentor to take me under there wing. Also with being in the military for so long makes it super hard. I love watching you're videos and seeing what it takes and what it is to do something not just or the money, but because you have this drive to live your life working hard. To show your sons what it is to be a man, and to show your daughters what it is to look for in one. Keep on driving on man! By the way, I get out of the Army at the end of this year if your hiring.

Love it! I had a diesel shop down in TX in 06 when these truck were coming out. Chevy finally got something right. :) I planned to run my old truck forever (02 F350 7.3 CCLB), but someone decided they liked it more than me and stole it. After that I broke down and got a 16 F350 6.7 CCLB (which I really like), but I also picked up an impractical 00 F350 7.3 CCSB on 38's that I drive for fun.

I’m hearing good things about the 6.7 Powerstroke. I did find a really clean 7.3 Dually that I was close to pulling the trigger on as well but opted to go for the Duramax instead because of long dirt washboard roads I am on a lot.

@@Stonefieldranch dually’s are great for pulling a load on the road, but on two tracks, trails, mud, or snow I hate them. I’ll give up some weight capacity for better maneuvaribility.

I bought a brand new 2007 Duramax LBZ, $57,200 Canadian. I pulled a 24ft aluminum gooseneck and would spin the tires empty. That motor is a beast. Top 1 or 2 trucks I ever had. Traded it for a new one that was much lower cost as the economy hit the business hard, dam that was a good truck.

Nice truck. I’m selling my 3019 RAM 1 ton and bought a 1986 1 ton dually instead lol. Gonna have to learn how to mechanic.

I thought it be a dually flatbed I drive a 2000 GMC crew cab dually with the 8.1 gas engine. Boy do I love that truck. I am pretty sure the grandkids will be driving grandpa's old truck around the ranch.
@Stonefieldranch3 ай бұрын
I do love Dually’s but I’m off road a little bit too much to merit a Dually all the time. This thing might get a flatbed at some point when I can afford it.
@10CowRanch-gn1iy3 ай бұрын
The dually is not the best for off road for sure The flat beds have gotten expensive I would like the aluminum vs the steel. I haven't wrecked my bed bad enough yet "yet" to get a new but it is coming some day. @@Stonefieldranch

Good thoughts on the older truck. We got 2 Ford diesel 2010 models. I cannot stand the thought of a $ 100, 000 truck.

That would be sweet but I don’t know if they made them in a crew cab. Gotta haul kids.
