My Dream Video - Globe Trekker - Lonely Planet Theme Tribute

I'm turning 30, so it's time to paste together one of my dream projects. Even as a young kid I absolutely loved the idea of travel, cultural exploration, and intrepid adventures. I used to run home from school every day to be able to watch Globe Trekker and Lonely Planet on Travel Channel. The theme music from this show always sparked my enthusiasm about life, and gave me a strong urge to go out and explore this planet. For many years I remained a couch-dwelling remote control adventurer, but a few years back I was able to make the big plunge into the wild awesomeness of this world. It was always a big dream for me to be able to make a music video for the Lonely Planet Theme using clips from my own travelling. It gives me a profound joy to now be able to fulfill this dream. Every time I watch this video it gives me a strong feeling of gratefulness and fulfillment. It truly is my happy-pill:-)

Could I correct you on something, please. I was the Musical Director on this project for 14 years and co-produced this mix. Could you correct the composer name please, because it was Ian Ritchie, not Michael Conn who wrote, produced and played the theme. The superb piano on this mix was played by a guy called John Thomas, who did it all in two takes. Michael Conn wrote a lot of the great music for the series but not this. Cheers.

Neville Farmer Hi Neville! Thanks for your comment. If you were in any way involved in the making of this song I take my hat off to you. An amazing and inspiring piece of music. Both in the credits at the end of the video and in the description of the video on KZbin I actually credit Ian Ritchie for this music. And it’s been like this ever since it was uploaded. For some reason KZbin’s software determines that the music belongs to Michael Conn and adds this as a restriction to the video. I thought it was strange when I first uploaded, but I thought he must have bought the rights to the song or something. I’m not sure how to deal with this error. The only option KZbin gives me is to remove the song itself from the video, which I really don’t want to do. What’s your advice?

christian bjerknes I don't know how that works, Christian. But I'll let Ian Ritchie know because he will lose earnings that should be going to him. I'm glad you love the music. KZbin has a software to recognize copyrighted music in videos and put restrictions on videos using music belonging to someone else. In this case the software has wrongfull identified Conn as the copyright holder of the music. I will check more around my account to see if there’s anything I can do about it.
