So glad you're enjoying the tips! As always, such a fun and enjoyable video to watch :D. Absolutely stunning job on the Nautilus - congratulations! The long nib will give you that bit of extra reach to get into the centre of it.

Your tools are AMAZING!!! I just posted a video of me using your trilobite air scribe and after some practice I’ve gotten it pretty well zoned in!

The only Dremel tools I was aware of were the rotary ones, so the whole time you were talking about getting a Dremel tool I couldn’t figure out how you were going to use it 🤔. Little did I know that Dremel made engraving tools, DUH 🤪. Looks like the perfect tool for the job 😃👍. And yes, we really do enjoy your collection of fun jumpers 😆!

Really pleased you have your Dremel, Em and that you like it. You did a great job - so much easier than a hammer and nail! The adjustment on the side covers a range of intensity from fine to coarse lines - i.e. shallower or deeper impression. I have used mine for both fossils and engraving on metal and it's a brilliant tool. Mine isn't as shiny and new as yours, but they are very robust tools and well worth the investment. I can't remember when I bought it, sometime in the last 30 years anyway and it's still going strong. Take care & see you soon. 👍☺ p.s. I call the replaceable ends bits or tips, but it doesn't really matter!

Awesome, now you've got a proper tool with proper bits to clean up your fossils. Love that red m&m jumper (I'd call it a sweater, normally, but I'll adapt lol) btw.

I bought a Dremal engraver like yours just for the purpose of preping fossils. The tip that it comes with will work on softer matrix, but I thing the zoicpalaeotech tips would permorm much better

I know this vid is a year old, but since that’s the dremel 290 a standard hand sewing needle works great in the 290 you just have to screw the screw in all the way to hold the needle but it’s great for detail work!!

For any US viewers, Dremel sells a 9909 tungsten carbide min that is similar to the ZIOC PaleoTech nib. No chisel though unfortunately.

I am experimenting with a larger Dremel plus a flexible shaft (which makes it easier to handle) using the diamond tipped tools from Lidl. An interesting video and thank you for it but can I please recommend a breathing mask as the dust coming off the workpiece can be inhaled and you do not want that. Some materials, such as flint, are silica and this flint gave rise to a very high death rate among the flint snappers of Brandon and area in East Anglia. Barry

I must get one of these! Hate to be "that guy", but it might be a good idea, when not recording videos, to wear a mask, dust can do unpleasant things to your lungs.

Wear eye protection. The tips can break and you do not want one of them in your eye!!!!!

i prefer foredom micromotor as a rotory tool, as engraving im using chineese gravermax from aliexpress, disadvantage is that you need an air compressor cuz its pneumatic but its awesome device :)

The Dremel is far easier to use if you get a flexible drive and clamp the Dremel to the bench or use a drill stand. Less weight to hold and better for fine work.

I imagine you know by now but just in case you haven't read the instructions yet... That first tip is for writing on metal. Sort of like coarse engraving.
