I keep telling people that the endless spawn of cavern invaders kills the game and the people who only played df before v.50 keep telling me that its pathfinding, temperature and so on instead.

The worst thing is that old players immediately discard any type of opinion of change that comes from new players. Most of the time, if you tell them that something shouldn't be like that, they usually don't even finish reading your comment.

if you do not patrol down there eventually, you will have a heck of a time dealing with the buildup. My militia is vs the vermintide

The footage made me realize DF Sometimes ends up looking like a Splatoon match of puke vs blood

Gotta say, these slow deaths by your absence were way worse than the other destructions of a fortress. Probably all the bodies piling up in the tavern xD

It would be interesting to see what would happen if you sealed the gates and build excess graves. Would a fortress designed to be neglected last longer?
@hoodiehair9 ай бұрын
yeah I definitely want to try that out at some point to see how long I could force a fortress to last!

I love the idea of dwarves having the reflexes of a drunk whenever they're sober.

What about walling in an undead / were manager so that it can't be fought and can't leave so the fort will never end?
@AsiniusNaso9 ай бұрын
A sealed fortress with proper orders in place can chug along for decades without problems. The trick is balancing farms and production with food/drink/clothing needs. Then your big problem is uncompleted strange moods and possible tantrum spirals.

It seems clear that most dwarf fortresses won’t survive on their own without your intervention… And that in itself sounds like a fun challenge for a future fortress/video. Can you create a fortress that you can eventually leave to run on its own and sustain itself, thanks for strategic planning and setup? Or is it truly not possible? Success or failure, I’d watch that video :)

I just recently started getting into DF and the idea of setting up a fortress to be as autonomous as possible and then letting it go until all the dominoes fall over is actually one thing that really appeals to me. I'll be doing my own version of these experiments soon.

I wonder how long the waterdrinkers would have been able to hold on if the bridge was closed and the goblins wouldn't have been able to get in

Not sure if you've been wondering why your views are (generally) going down ,but I REALLY like your content, that being said, KZbin simply doesn't recommend it to me. It's kind of sad seeing KZbin suppress a small creator. peace.

This has to be some abuser's tactic of a video to justify all the warcrimes; "LOOK AT HOW HOPELESS YOU ARE WITHOUT ME, YOU NEED ME."
