An experienced miner always has about a 3% chance of instantly killing anything. Picks are divine weapons, a medium through which the gods can change fate in an instant through a single action at any time. Deus ex machina

That literally just happened to me yesterday. A minotaur came in and caught my legendary miner, killing him pretty much instantly, which presumably caused my newly employed rookie miner to fly into a rage tearing off the thing's throat with her pick and then caving it's skull in about 12 times before it went down

This may have been your least Death-Filled Video yet, including the fortress of Happiness and the musical fort. Pretty incedible, considering a large part of it was fighting powerfull beasts

Killed an angel and somehow your least evil installment

"Angel" is a pretty abstract concept when you have too many gods and they represent things like mist and suicide.

I never thought about melting down clown metal. 🤦 Years and years and I just assumed it wouldn't melt in my smelters. Omg

Congrats on making a mountainhome. It's really the culmination of everything you have put into the fortress over years of gametime.

Congratulations! How smart, melting down the angel's goodies. It took me waaaaay too long to get at the adamantium to build a throne.

Wow, a happy little video about a prospering settlement. Barely any death at all. That's better than I've ever done with a fortress. 👍

Unless they patched it in v50, making trap components and then melting said components for some reason yields more than the amount required to make them. this means as long as all the melting is done at the same smelter, you could make an industry of divine metal smelting, eventually completely crashing the value of your divine metal as every dwarf has their own True Throne and several worthless divine metal knickknacks. (and of course, the angel-slaying capabilities of a nearly unencumbered divine metal army)

If you want to go further, coins can be used to dupe any metal, including adamantine, to absurd degrees; you can either make macros to sell stacked coins to a trade caravan and buy them back one at a time, use tantruming elves/gobbos to split the stacks, or just melt the initial stack back down for a slight duplication of 1.1x
@Agora202111 ай бұрын
@@rin_reverie Coins were definitely a major pain in the ass for duping, lucrative though.

Can you outit miners with steel armor and steel picks? you can force them to replace clothes with armor but do steel picks do more damage than say copper ones?
@rin_reverie11 ай бұрын
Yes and yes-in fact, the main reason to make picks out of metals other than copper is damage! Mining speed only increases with the minerdorf’s skill level

I can use divine metal for the true throne?!?!?!? Well, that simplifies this process. In my current fort I got like 12 ingots of rusted metal and I think 8 of shimmering metal from melting down the human sized armor of angels (?) in from the gems above the lava sea, like 5 levels above the first bit of candy.
