A couple things that really helped my curls is to have the diffuser only on medium heat, and pineappling my hair in a lose bun on top of my head in a scrunchie while sleeping. That seems to even add curls for me! Love your tips.

Love your color & curls!!!! Its interesting to me that putting in a leave in and some curl cream are new to some people. Not my intention to mock you or anything it is just interesting to note the cultural differences. I've been doing that for all of my 41 years that I've had hair! Glad u are finding products that work for you!!!! Couple of tips that get me 5 days out of a wash & go. Always do a pre poo deep conditioner every wash day. Always sleep on a silk pillow case. Twist your hair into 2 strand twist on each side of your hair like pigtails if you will. Then pineapple them on top of your head with a satin scrunchie or claw clip you in order to keep ur curls looking great while you sleep. You can spritz your curls and add more leave in before putting up your hair at night to refresh ur curls. Not sure who told you that sleeping with a towel on wet hair would cause mold or something but that really makes no sense at all! I sleep with wet/damp hair almost every night and have never had any issues. If any of this terminology is confusing there are thousands of videos to watch from the natural hair community! Hope this helps it taken me 40 years to get my routine down!!!!

Oh how I wish I had your curls!!! I've been sleeping with my hair above my head for decades now!! I've learned that as long as my hair reaches my shoulders or below (shorter than my shoulders? won't work) I just toss my hair up over my head and I've learned to just keep doing that throughout the night every time I roll over... works like a charm!! I wash my hair twice a week and only have to style my hair once after washing if I sleep this way. Another fabulous video - thank you!!

LOVE your curls, Zabrena! 😍 I have curls, and I have been learning how to take care of them better over the last 3 years! One small tip from one curly girl to another: Don’t “scrunch out the crunch” with a microfiber towel. That type of towel can snag your hair and make it frizzy, or even cause some breakage. What I usually do is put a very small amount of a hair oil in my hands and scrunch it out. But if you don’t want to use an oil, just use your hands without oil on them! I’ve done that too, and it works great!

Thank you Zabrena for sharing. I am trying to embrace my curls/waves/frizz. I have straightened my hair for MANY years, but the older I get the less I want to fight the humidity and frizz. I love getting simple suggestions on what works for others. PS: your hair is gorgeous! 🤩

Timing is everything……so quick story…I’m 59 years young and decided a few months ago to grow out my pixie haircut. I’ve been trying to style it several different ways. So the other day, I spritzed it with water (intending to use my styling blow dryer brush) while finishing getting ready my hair dried (my hair is very fine). When I looked in the mirror, to my surprise, it was curly!!!! I’ve never had naturally curly hair!! The only time my hair was ever curly was 35+ years ago when I permed it 😂 So now I’m trying to figure out how to deal with curls and you posted this video 😂😂 Timing is everything!!!! Thank you 💜💜💜💜

When I wear my curls, my best friend is a bottle of water with a little bit of gel in it. Best re-scrunching spray. I can even brush it out and re-scrunch. But I dont know how anyone wears curls in the summer. Summer time is tight slicked back bun time. LOL

I've had everything from extremely long, to very short hair, and no matter the length my curls prefer to rest on my pillow at night. No bonnets or scarves. I will say, using a silk pillowcase has really helped with frizz, tangles, and preserving my curls while I sleep. I have 3A, 3B and some random 2C bits here and there and I still experiment with different products marketed to all curls, waves, and coils.

My friend has naturally curly hair it's long and sometimes her hair looks like ringlets it's gorgeous. She really didn't like it growing up because of the different hairstyles in fashion then, now she shows off her curls and is quite proud of them. Perms just don't look like natural curls. I think it's human that straight hair people want curls and curly people want straight hair. Just have to love what you've got and show it at its best.

To break up the cast or scrunch out the crunch as I say you can also use hair oil. I like to use the olaplex oil when doing mine. It helps prevent frizz and provides a little extra moisture and shine! I just rub some onto my hands and scrunch until there's no more crunch.

Your video really did help and teach me a lot of good tips to take care of my curly hair. Thank you

I don't follow the "curly girl method" but I do use the way they style the hair, the LOC/LCO method, layering a cream, a gel and a serum. It's awesome and even with my (little amount) of texture it works.

I have very similar hair texture and it’s fun to have somebody in the beauty community who can actually share hair products/methods that are relevant for me. Have you ever tried a hair oil to break up the cast? I find if I go in even with bare hands to break up the gel cast, it introduces frizz, so now I use oil once my hair is completely dry. It’s a nice way to wear a scent too. 😬
@amixeblu Жыл бұрын
I use a microfiber turbie towel, just get the dampness out. Then style on damp hair, and let it dry (airdry) for the rest of my Sunday. I weekly wash. Then in the evening all I need to do is run the diffuser through for only 5 minutes (because it has had that time to dry a good part). I can't plop, I can't sleep with my hair wet. I have SD, seborrheic dermatitis, so I need to get my scalp dry (bone dry) by the end of the day, or else there'll be hell to pay.

Hygral fatigue- From other comments here, it sounds like it depends on how long, how wet, how often you do this for it to happen. So maybe just being aware, but of course do what works personally. i havent ever been a night-time washer, but i have had serious hair loss and have been babying my hair to grow back, so i try not to leave mine wet just in case. Thank you for the video! 🧡👍🧡👍

The Blowout Professor has helped me a lot. Yes, Curly hair needs more moisture. But from menopause and thyroid junk my once full thick bouncy hair has become fine. Ive had to find a very lightweight leave in conditioner othetwise, regular conditioner weighs it down even more. Its been a PROCESS relearning! 😮 Ive also learned we're not supposed to "scootch" our curls up in the diffuser but hover. But i cant help but think that scooching the curls toward the scalp makes it at least a little more tighter. ( goes back to the touching thing ) But.....i say find what works for us! I also did a hair test thru Strands. They do a microscopic test on your hair. Was so happy to know my cuticle and scalp are healthy!😊

Is that the name Strands? I want to have another hair analysis! I also have gone thru menopause but my hair strands seem to have become coarser. I wish it was finer.

*Wavy Gal* . I've been doing a modified CG routine for 2 years. I've been using a t-shirt for plopping but the Moonstone towel looks perfect. I haven't tried the Mizani Leave -In but I like that it doesn't contain silicone as I've found that silicones are generally too heavy for my fine hair and my waves fall by day 2.
