Hi Zabrena!! Curly girl here that has embraced her curls for almost 15 years now! That hair dryer looks amazing! I have the shark one that is very similar and I dry my hair so fast! It has changed the game for me. Now that you are delving deeper on your curly hair journey you may enjoy watching Manes by Mel here on KZbin. She’s a curly hair specialist and stylist. She has great educational videos as well as videos on techniques and hair cuts, and her curls are always so healthy and beautiful! Also, those bounce curl products are game changing for soft, hydrated and defined curls. Using those in conjunction always give me beautiful and plump curls! Just wanted to share the love! Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it.

Hi Zabrena, thank you for doing this video, i love your curls, as women with straight,thick hair,i always envied these blessed with curly hair, in my teens I would get a perm ( hated the process- the smell) but for a number of years I went through this, now I don’t perm my hair but still wish for curly hair. My mom has straight, black shiny BEAUTIFUL hair. And I have curls. She had no idea how to help me. It wasn't until my 20's that I was able to figure it out and embrace them. I straightened my hair every day for many years! We all want what we don't have 🤣 one of my daughters has straight hair and one got my curls. I'm glad I can help them both! 🥰

Newbie here. I learned a lot from Manes by Mel, too, though Gena Marie’s YT channel is wonderful, too. For my fine, medium thickness, 2c-3b curly hair, I found that switching from the Denman brush to BounceCurl’s new comb created better curls for me. My hair didn’t keep it’s curl pattern for very long with the BounceCurl products, though I’m still using their clarifying shampoo 1-2x/mo. After 3 years of trial & error, Not Your Mother’s curly hair products is what works best for me. Ever since I quit straightening my hair, I’ve been getting tons of compliments. And my hair is healthier now, too! So glad you’re embracing your curls, too!

Hi! Absolutely! I started using Ion's Color Brilliance in 8RC Light Copper Blonde that you can find in Sally stores. I'll link it in the description box! I used a diffuser back in the day.. I think the last time I used it was 2008 and before. Takes too much time! I've just air dried since. I shower at night and just air dry it while I sleep now. My routine gets more and more simple. Natural redhead, also curly. My hair is longer than it was before, longer hair weighs down the hair some, diffusing it involes scruching it up, usually, making it curlier, so I don't do that, with air drying. With a diffuser, I can get curls just as curly as the spiral perm that I had in the 80's ;) And yes, I had one.

I remember your blown out styles and love it now as well! Congrats on finding some great products that work for you. I have a lot of allergies and I found my best shampoos through Prose. It lasts a long time and is worth it since it's custom. The scalp scrubbers are amazing. I actually use the raw sugar tea tree scalp scrub and it's a fine grain scrub. Then ,I use the gentle scrubber with the fine grain raw sugar scalp scrub, and it works beautifully. My roots feel so much better after doing that. You know the heavy hair pull pain. Hopefully going to get it cut soon! Love ya! God Bless.

Would love to know about the scent for each product. Used a shampoo that had an extremely strong scent. Didn’t even put it all over because the scent stopped me. Washed my hair with shampoo that had no scent…5 times I washed it and I could still smell the strongly scented bottle. My goal is to not toss my cookies and be body slammed by an wretched headache. So I am always asking about the scent of everything! 🤓
@Zabrena
@Zabrena Жыл бұрын
HA! I hear you! The only overly-scented product I showed would be the shampoo. It does have a tea tree oil kind of smell to it and it will linger in the hair. It's not terrible but if scents bother you, it's a strong one! Everything else pretty much has no scent :) Hope that helps!

The last time I wore my hair curly was last month when I had surgery. I didn’t feel like blowing it out, so I just went curly. After surgery, I found out that I couldn’t shower for a week and since the surgery was at my neck, I couldn’t wash my hair. Never again. Despite being brushed out every day, my hair was a tangled mess. I had hair that broke off when I was trying to brush it out. And there was no way I could use a comb. I love the curly look, but my hair won’t cooperate.

Hi Tiffany! Here's what really helped me: first thing I'd recommend making sure you're not sleeping on your hair, this was my biggest problem. My curls got crushed and I'd have to revive them on day two and three. I found that laying my hair above the pillow (so it's off your neck) and keeping your head off the curls really does help them look fresh day 2, 3, sometimes 4. On the days when they need a reviving, I take a mister and spritz my hair with water to dampen it. Then take a little bit more of the styling cream, run it through and diffuse again. I hope this helps! :)

I’m so confused. I thought it was healthier for your hair NOT to dry your hair with a drier? I quit using a hair dryer about 20 years ago and have embraced air drying. I keep seeing people telling me to get a diffuser and if it’s taking almost as long to dry as leaving it to air dry…? I guess I’m just out of the loop. Since I dye my gray hair- isn’t that damaging enough? I should watch more tutorials 🤷‍♀️
