Honestly I'm a firm believer in talking about embarrassing "TMI" things because they happen to EVERYONE, the more we talk about them the less stigma there is. Especially natural bodily things that may be deemed gross, don't be ashamed. Austin proves time and time again that he's a real man who will do whatever he needs to supports his wife. Some boys wouldn't do that!

Of course Austin is proud to take one for the team and talk about it. You guys are awesome. After all these years I've come to realize that nothing is TMI here especially after hearing 5's a crowd. I'm loving it. You guys make me like l'm part of family. Hope you're feeling better Jess.

It’s called the husband method! I wish my husband would do it lol. I’ve had mastitis 3 times since having our son 6 months ago and it’s always so painful. The best tips I’ve been given are to have a hot shower with water directed on the area, or apply a warm compress for 10-15 minutes prior to feeding or pumping. Gentle massage and vibration. We have a seat for our little guy that has an attachment that vibrates. It detaches completely to allow for the battery to be changed. Very strong vibration. That saved me during my last clog 🙌🏼 10 out of 10 recommend vibration if massage alone isn’t working.

I can't believe I'm going to tell this.... this happened 34 yrs ago but it happened to me and my kid's dad decided he would step up and "help" and he ended up blowing chunks.... I don't know what he thought it would taste like but wasn't what he expected. Afterwards he said he'd never go around "the girls" again. The best part of this story is that I started chasing him around the house and squirting him with it. Try NOT to picture that please...😂

@trishtestrow3366 Жыл бұрын
Often when Mothers get the beginnings of mastitis, Nurses recommend keeping a fresh clean cabbage in the refrigerator. When your breast starts swelling and feeling sore, before it gets worse place the cold cabbage leaves around your swollen sore breasts. Relief will come and the pain and swelling will lessen. Then try to get the baby back on the breast as soon as it is comfortable again. I know is may sound very old wives tale, but it truly dose work. Still seek medical assistance if pain and blockage do not improve.

Hi guys! Jess they make a massager just to keep your ducts from clogging. I didn't know if you knew that or not. I think it is made by the company that makes the breast pumps that you have but, I'm not sure. I know the one I saw was yellow and you use it to keep them from getting clogged. Maple is protecting Lucas and she probably can sense his heart issue. Dogs are good at that. I had a Dog that protected my little great niece that I helped to raise from the time I brought her into the house as a newborn and would keep her a whole week at a time (every other week) My dog who's name was Misty wouldn't even let the baby's father get near her without growling. She was actually putting herself between the baby and him and was going to bite him. Misty and my great niece loved each other very much. My niece and the baby's father were not speaking at the time so he had come to my house to see her. Needless to say it didn't go too well. LOL! He deserved it. Loved this video. Sending HUGS to you and Austin, Micah, Paige, Lucas and Maple. Take care FRIENDS!!🤟🤗

Jess, I think you just got lucky and your immune system was able to fight off the infection without antibiotics. Red streaks on the skin is a telltale sign of serious infection. I would say that if you feel that way and have a temperature for more than 24 hours, just get to a doctor. Your body is especially important right now, but of course always deserves to be cared for. On a different topic, I think you got our snow. I’m here in Lancaster, PA, land of late winters (we usually get a good helping in February and March,) but we have not even had one that laid. A few flurries, and that’s all. Unheard of around here. I hope you enter spring soon! 🐇🌸🌿🌼🌞

I had a clogged duct about a week or so ago too... weird. I was feeling pretty down and crappy for a whole day and it took a lot of having baby nurse on that side while still expressing on the other side so it didn't get clogged too... I periodically checked my temp and I had a forehead temp of 101 and my boob was a bit over 102 itself.... took ibuprofen once and it helped a bit of the pain that evening but didn't touch the fever at all so I took Tylenol and it kicked the fever for the night. Woke up with it 101 again but boob itself was 101 too. And I could see the red lines moved closer to the exit😅... was a rough couple of days

If you do dangle nursing where you kneel over baby who is flat on bed on back and breast pointing straight down it unplugs the ducts . And lots of wet heat to breast from shower.You can recover from mastitis without antibiotics.

Between my babies I had mastitis 5x and I can’t tell you how many clogged ducts! I feel you Mama! Not that you asked, so if you’ve already tried this totally disregard this message, but when I finally started taking sunflower lecithin daily I never had a clogged duct again. I had heard of it and it had been recommended by lactation consultants but I thought I’d be fine without it. After my last bout with mastitis I decided to give the supplement a shot and it was great! Hang in there, breastfeeding is HARD!

Don’t worry about his birthmark by about age 5 it’ll be pretty well faded out. I know also, there is a blood pressure medicine but they can take to lighten them up. I’m not too sure about that but I think I heard that we have that in our family on the back of all the kids next and when the hair grew of course you didn’t see it anymore.

If anything, those marks are similar to the “stork marks” most babies get on their foreheads and, or nape of their necks. They do fade overtime.

I had a baby 3/13/23 and think I developed mastitis last week, started feeling like a clog, then redness appeared and I had a slight fever and pain, but after hot compresses and massaging/nursing it resolved over a couple of days. I guess mastitis can be self limiting as long as it isn’t bacterial, so that’s my best guess.

As a nurse and mother who has breastfed, I would recommend pumping after your nurse Lucas to avoid mastitis. You have an over abundance at first and leaving your breasts full causes mastitis. Your milk will regulate but pumping is recommended til then.
@mandimoo87 Жыл бұрын
Def mastitis, its just an inflammation but sounds infected if it was giving you a fever. I had this with #1 and had to go on antibiotics and actually stop bf in order to take something stronger. I was pumping to relieve and there was pus coming out. With #2 that breast would barely let any milk out. It blew up really big and the Dr thinks I must have scarred and blocked ducts. I pumped the other side as long as I could but ultimately gave up (neither ofine could latch) to avoid another infection as I was so engorged.
