Oh Blair. I truly sympathize with you on this subject and I kind of just want to hug you for going through that! I have had ovarian cysts before too and even when I don't I still have severe pain and vomiting no matter what. It is so hard dealing with that time for some of us girls. Hopefully it doesn't happen to you again. Really though when I meet someone who actually knows what its like to feel that pain, I feel like we all have a special bond!

It's all going to be okay Blair. I have them all the time and I've had a couple rupture before. It so painful like you said, no matter what people say, you deserves to have a say off because of that. What I do, since you can't really cure them, just watch out for the same symptoms. Hope you feel better!

popinfresh I get them all the time and had surgery my doctor just gives me tylenol 3 for pain but only when I need it :) theres other things you can take that aren't as strong but normally if I take a T3 and sleep it off with a heating pack it goes away :)

Blair, when you were describing your situation, it felt like déjà vu, because I had an ovarian cyst earlier this year. Although it didn't rupture, it was still very painful, and I actually had it taken out. I'm glad you're feeling better, and hope you're completely back to normal soon. Sending prayers and warm thoughts your way :) xx

I suffer from ovarian cysts on a semi-regular basis and the heating pack works and soaking in hot water can help a little. But trying to avoid upright sitting positions where you are putting pressure in that area for the next few days helped prevent any more discomfort. Also, if you feel almost like there is pressure in your uterus area, that is normal since some fluid from the cyst could have collected behind or around it. It can sometimes feel kind of weird when you walk but its nothing to worry about, your body will get rid of it.

OUCH girl feeling for you right now, actually the most pain I have ever been in was when this happened to me, What ever you do just listen to your body don't do anything you don't feel like doing or don't feel up to. The heap packs or warm baths/showers were also life savers, and be careful of what pants you wear, pretty sure I lived in trackies and yoga pants for a week straight after, the thought of wearing anything else terrified me. Take it easy and don't over do your self. Hope you feel better soon!

Back in 2009 I had an 11cm cyst that flipped my right ovary. I went to the hospital and went in for emergency surgery. Originally the doctor thought the ovary had died since there was no blood flow to it but they were able to remove the cyst and untwist the ovary and save it at the last minute. It was actually as I was home recovering from that surgery that I found your channel. Glad you're feeling better; I remember how awful that pain was.

Oh girl I knew exactly what it was right when you started describing it. I get them all the time. I had to stay in the hospital for two days and almost to have one of my ovaries removed. Luckily I didn't have to and it shrunk miraculously over night. One thing I've noticed is that my periods are worse since then and I stock up on the heating pads that you can stick in the rim of your pants. They save my life! I wouldn't be able to walk if I didn't have them. Glad your feeling better! It also could be a gastro problem if it keeps going on. Ive had both cysts and found that I'm allergic to gluten and its the exact same pain.

The same thing happens to me every couple of months, so I definitely know what you're going through. And I feel really bad for you. I wouldn't wish these on my worst enemy, let alone one of my favourite youtubers! Honestly, nothing makes the pain disappear; you kind of just have to wait it out. But a few things do help, such as the heating pad, and baths, like the girl on twitter said. Sometimes things like tylenol and advil help too. I also recommend doing other things that soothe you, like having a candle burning and trying to breathe in the scent deeply, having relaxing music playing, staying in bed, and massaging your feet. I really hope you never have to go through this again.

Aww I feel so bad for you Blair. My friend had one of these awhile ago and she was probably in the worst place to get one. School. Yeah. She had to go home immediately and didn't come back the next day. If it still hurts during sleep, try putting a pillow between your legs. It is a little more comfortable and really helps during those times.
@misshannah311

Also the things that always help (besides just having to wait it out) is a heating pad, actually showering and letting the hot water hit right on my stomach, and for some reason the child pose seems to relieve pain in that area for me. And ibuprofen is the only pain medication that has ever seemed to minimize the pain too.

I had a ruptured ovarian cyst when i was 15. It very very nearly killed me. Luckily they managed to rush me in to theatre within a few hours and they say the fact they operated so fast saved my life. Its left me unable to have children though because it had a huge affect on my ovary and tube. I fully understand your pain. I found warm baths helped me, and i mean before my op i was in the bath literally every 10 minutes to help with the pain. That pain you described, i had for almost 3 days. Excruciating! Even now 12 years later whenever i have a slight stomache ache i panic. Dont think that worry will ever go away. Glad youre feeling better now though x

I knew that's what happened as soon as you started talking! I went through 2 LONG years of cysts rupturing every few weeks, I ended up having my appendix removed from it, as well as a hysterectomy, when I was 24. (I'm 25 now). Doctors said they've never seen that happen in someone my age so don't worry, but make sure you keep up with your doctor for follow ups, cysts can be nasty to deal with! Hot baths, heating pads, and honestly when I find the pain is the worst, heating pad on the stomach, ice pack or cold cloth on your forehead keeps you more comfortable. My personal opinion anyway :) good luck! Hope your feeling better ASAP!

I've had a cyst rupture at the same time I was passing three kidney stones. Talk about PAIN. When the pain first started all I wanted to do was sit in a hot bath but then after talking to my mom who had appendicitis she said getting in the hot bath can make it 10x worse. They rushed me to the ER thinking it was appendicitis and it turned out to be the cyst and kidney stones. No fun! Hope you are feeling much much better! :)

Gurus talk way too much. A man or a normal woman would have summarized the event as " When I went to make food that noon, my abdomen was hurting so bad that i couldn't get up to walk the dog. I called my dad, who is a doctor, and he told me to go to the ER, which I did. People at the hospital told me that it was a ruptured ovarian cyst. They gave me no treatment, but offered me crackers and ginger ale. Then i felt better, and they said i could go home. They told me that if the pain returned, i would have to go back immediately."

How did you know you had cysts on your ovaries? Like did you get some kind of scan or something?? Just so the rest of us know what to look for?
@ItsMrsKari
@ItsMrsKari 10 жыл бұрын
Nicole, they can confirm the presence of ovarian cysts via CT scan or by doing a transvaginal ultrasound. If it ruptured, free fluid can sometimes be seen in the pelvic cavity on a CT scan. Some girls may just have one and never experience problems again but a majority have a condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome where they continually form cysts. They often just shrink in size and eventually go away but some tricky ones rupture, which is painful as heck. Basically, they suck, lol.
@avas132
@avas132 10 жыл бұрын
Basically what ItsMrsKari said. If you don't experience any sort of worrisome symptoms then you don't even have to worry about getting checked out. I saw my gynecologist because I was having very irregular periods and was just concerned about that area in general. They did an ultrasound in that area and found the cysts.

Nicole Klassen I actually found out because they thought I had appendicitis so they sent be for a CT scan revealing that I had an abdominal lymph node infection and ovarian cysts(even though they never told me I did). Like 2 weeks later one ruptured and I got an ultra sound and found out I still had a few. A lot of women have cysts but not all of them rupture. My friend has a massive one that has to be surgically removed.

I get ovarian cysts often, but they don't rupture. Just feels like pressure, and then they go away. You're doing the perfect thing by taking warm/hot baths, drinking herbal tea, and using a heating compress. They say cysts rupture when the muscles are being heavily used, so relax them as much possible.

I know exactly what you were going through since I had my first ovarian cyst burst when I was 17 and then another one a few years after. I had the same pain you described and too ended up on the floor in uncontrollable sharp pains. If I had a steel bar between my teeth at that time I think I could have turned it into a pretzel shape because of my pain. I had one cyst which was the size of a grapefruit. That one they treated me with birth control to shrink it which it did luckily. Good luck to you on your recovery and hope everything will be okay.

I know your pain. I've had cysts before, but luckily mine never ruptured. I thought it was my appendix because of where the pain was, same exact place you described. My doctor actually gave me birth control to help control the pain and that actually made it feel A WHOLE LOT BETTER! A heating pad will help relax the muscles a little and tea was key for me, too. Just keep pushing through. Hope you feel better soon :)

I had this same thing last May. I definitely understand the pain you were in. I used a heating pad, medication, and lots of rest. I also know that if you take birth control, that can give you a lesser chance of ovarian cysts. I hope you don`t have to go through this kind of pain again, I definitely know how hard it is.

I had to have emergency surgery to get rid of one that wouldn't burst and it was pulling on my ovaries and twisting the tubes for 2 weeks! I couldn't stand or move. I feel for you girl I share the pain. Glad they took care of it!

I had an ovarian cyst burst (on that same day actually- how odd) and I almost passed out, went deaf for a few moments, threw up, couldn't move from the fetal position and my body started going into shock from the pain. I had to go to the hospital too and they were CONVINCED it was appendicitis. Thankfully, it wasn't. Though going through the tests to eliminate it is so boring! I was such a rebel though and told them "you will NOT take out my appendix today!" (apparently I was on some pain meds when I said that) When they asked what my pain level was, I said 8.5 because I didn't want to seem like a baby and waste my "10" either! But you were so right about the feeling! It is like your stomach constricts and yet there is the SHARPEST pain constantly. it's the WORST! My ER doctor said if I could handle a ovarian cyst rupturing, that I could easily handle childbirth to which I said "WOAH-NO! Not yet!" ;) So very interesting we both went though this on the same day! Made me laugh a little bit!

Aw blair! My mom had an ovarian cyst that burst also! Be careful, and make sure there are none left, because one of them turned out to be cancer. My mom had her ovaries removed altogether because of the cancer! Feel better, and be cautious! :)
