my absolute favorite high fantasy series is the Faithful and the Fallen by John Gwynne! it takes a lot of focus and attention to keep all the characters and places straight, but it's SO worth it! highly highly recommend!

I think my end of year tbr is to read Ship of Destiny to finish Liveships, The Enchanted Sonata, Winter Solstice, and maybe 11/22/63. All super long books with little reading time, so we'll see!

My favourite book of the year was curious tides by pascale lacelle. The writing is just so beautiful and on the same level a Strange the Dreamer and Starless Sea considering the vibes. The second book got published last week and arrived today. I can't wait to read it.

I love when Winnie suddenly comes in lol. Three books I want to read before the end of the year The once and future witches (which I’m ready right now, yay) and I wanna reread Legendborn and then Bloodmarked so I’m gonna be ready for the sequel next year. I know it’s coming out in March but I can’t wait anymore, I love these characters😭

i feel like for high/epic fantasy, you should The Bounded Curse by Ana Stanojevic. It might not seem an epic fantasy just yet as it is a first book, but it'll eventually become one. It's magic/magical realism with themes like friendships, adventures, and good vs evil

My end of the year tbr is reading Bookshops and Bonedust, Strange the Dreamer, Nevermoor, and Crown of Midnight. I just added Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries for a mood read since I would really like to finish it or decide if I am actually going to finish it or not. I may have to ask one of my friend's to buddy read it with me. Yes, I do have plans for next year for 2025 I have been slowing working on my reading journal to help with planning. Happy reading!!

that would depend on the 14 year old, since its an adult historical mystery series with a romance subplot. are they comfortable reading adult books? the kind with the presence of swearing, action (violence/injury), alcohol drinking, sexual themes (not explicit but discussions of affairs etc), sexism/misogyny (since it's a historical setting), etc
