I love to color, but I'm not picky about how I'm doing them. I do plan on getting some fine liner pens. I have some coloring pages with large amount of small areas to color. Hoping that will help. I have plenty of colored pencils and last month I Bought alcohol markers. A 90 piece set. I add my finished pages to a portfolio and take pictures to add to my instagram page.

Chris Cheng is amazing! But you know you're not half bad yourself. What gets me about Chris is how fast she does a page! I once asked her how long, on average, does she take, and she said she almost always finishes in one day, but sometimes goes 2 days. OMG. The detail she gets! I don't think I've ever seen her use anything but Prisma, along with sometimes a white pen and very sometimes soft pastels. But yeah, she's amazing - and when asked how to get that good, she says, "practice." Yeah, right Chris - just practice, no talent needed - lol.
@tinyworldsofwonder4 жыл бұрын
Seriously ... she is incredible. I think she is actually a professional artist, so I'm sure there was lots of practice, but of course no one becomes an artist without the aptitude. I could watch her all day!!

@tinyworldsofwonder3 жыл бұрын
Bonjour et merci! That is interesting! I believe the original publication wasn't overly expensive, so it might just be that there is demand for an additional run from the publisher. Of course it's always possible that the paper quality will differ between runs, but I hope not! The paper in this book isn't the highest quality as it is, but it works fine for colored pencils. :)

Oh my - I love this video! In only the past couple of weeks it's come to me that I'd like to get back to coloring, as a break from diamond painting. Coloring is so much more portable than DPing, and takes less room to do. I miss blending and seeing drawings come to life. I have at least a few of the same books, so you're inspiring! I need to look up you coloring videos, as I've never gotten the hang of Inktense pencils, which I bought 2 years ago. My go-to pencils are Prismacolor Premier, but also Polychromos. Going to focus more on coloring as soon as I finish DPing Royal's Santa - a 70X90 CM monster. Started it in September and about halfway done. It's a square drill one, and slowwww going! On a good day I get a 4"X4" square done. Oy vey! :)
@tinyworldsofwonder4 жыл бұрын
Hi, my friend!! Thank you!! 😀 I agree - coloring can be such a nice way to switch up my crafting. These big canvases can get so overwhelming! I have been thinking about trying the Polychromos pencils. How do you think they compare to Prismas?
@greydoe4 жыл бұрын
@@tinyworldsofwonder You can't beat Prisma for blending, but Polychromos are fantastic for layering, and imo, the pigments used are incredibly bright, yet realistic. I switch pencils with the subject, but also with mood. Prismas are easier to use, so better for casual coloring - I do use them most often, as there's nothing professional about my coloring. lol I bought my first set of 150 in 2016, and then they went on sale (Amazon) for 50.00, so I got another set, that I've yet to touch. :) How do you feel about Inktense?
@tinyworldsofwonder4 жыл бұрын
@@greydoe That is good to know. :) I was wondering if Polychromos might create more detail in some cases, but I have yet to try them. I love the Inktense (like LOVE!) when the paper can take water okay. You do mostly have a work in a single layer in coloring books, but you can't beat the speed! :)
@greydoe4 жыл бұрын
@@tinyworldsofwonder Okay - this is what I heard about Inktense, but have no experience of: They say that once you use water on the Inktense, it acts like ink, in that it becomes inert. So now, according to things I've read, you *can* layer them. One can put another color over the current one, and again add water, and it's not supposed to interfere with the original color. Have you tried that? What were the results, if so?
@tinyworldsofwonder4 жыл бұрын
@@greydoe Yes, that is correct. I find that most coloring book paper won’t take more than about two washes of water before it starts to pill and/or bleed through. I think this is more of a limitation than the pencils. If you work with your shading in one layer, and then add contrast or overtones you can usually get away with some layering. 😀 some papers are better than others of course.

I have an aurora borealis story! First, I was born/grew up in the Chicagoland area. In high school, I had a boyfriend that lived most of the year in very Northern Wisconsin, and a few months/year near me. His parents owned/ran a small town called Hayward, wayyyy up there, where only wolves and them go - lol. One Winter's Friday, I decided to surprise him and drive up there. I started after school, around 4 p.m., so it was already a late start, but I was 16 with a new car - what did I know? lol When I got there, it was like midnight, but his mom and him were still up, so no problem. We ate some burgers and sat around talking. For some reason, I then decided to drive all the way back home, around 3 a.m. - don't ask me why - I was crazy and indestructible. So I'm driving on the highway, and soooo tired. I opened the window and turned the radio up very loud to stay awake. This was the dead of Winter, so it was really cold. My mind was wandering, but I was awake enough. at some point I looked out of the driver's side window, and there in the sky were what looked to me to be huge balls - like a chandelier, hanging in the sky! I not only never saw the aurora, I'd never even heard of it. I FREAKED OUT! Pulled the car over to the side of the highway - I was the only car out there, so no biggie, opened the door to get a better look. I thought maybe we were in a nuclear war? Maybe aliens?? Luckily, just then I heard on the radio, "If you happen to be outside tonight, a rare occurrence - if you look to the Northeast, you might be able to see the aurora borealis." Whew! It was gorgeous, but really creepy too! BTW - Does everyone out there realize that tonight, on Hallow's Eve, it's a Full Moon with a Lunar Eclipse, and Mercury is retrograde?? I'm not saying there's anything to it, but you will see me in a salt-protected bed with a bowl of popcorn, and a good movie on the TV. Brahahahaaaaa!
@tinyworldsofwonder4 жыл бұрын
That is an amazing story!! I suppose it would have been a super creepy experience if you weren't expecting it!! Take care - and maybe no scary movies tonight? LOL!

@@tinyworldsofwonder We watched something that was so bad (started out okay, but the ending was... blah...), I can't even recall the title. Was supposed to be horror, about a couple of manly men who get into a confrontation in a bar. Suddenly afterward, one guy's girlfriend is killed in a really gruesome way. In fact, so gruesome, it seems impossible that a human did it, and huge "dog-prints" are found near the headless body. The idea is, is it man, or beast? If beast, it's a huge, dog-like creature. I think the title had the word "wolf" in it. Anyway, if you come across something with that description, skip it - not because of gore, but because it just plain sucked.
