That’s crazy that the journal was as old as him when you met him and that it was made in the state AND city he grew up in! 😳 That’s beyond coincidence.

I find it really interesting how you found the love of your life a bit after you learnt to be content with being single. It shows how you must love and be comfortable with yourself before the (near) perfect relationship!

It's amazing how journal affects our life tremendously. Like in just 1 book itself, it holds alot of our life from every bits. And you keep on writing and writing and when you realised, you have just finished 1 book so you start a new one and it repeats. So imagine that one day while you were cleaning, you found a box filled with your completed journals and you re-read them and it brings back good and sad memory and how you wish you could turn back time and witness it all over again 🥲 and imagine that one day in the future, someone would create a time machine or what sort and travel to the year that is written in your journal and be able to witness the past, thanks to your writing. I'm currently on my 2nd book so I hope I could continue to write till I can't write anymore. I aim to write and fill my box with all of my completed journals so that in every 5 years, I'd read everything back and see what changes I've made.

I just found you! I LOVED this video! I have been journaling since I was about ten...some journals were thrown away because of a breach of trust with my mom...hugely changed the way I expressed myself. I do journal in a similar fashion, so it is really fun to see your process and history! I am 63 now, and keep a notebook for my various projects...it helps to have a notebook-composition books mostly, for each project because then I can find notes more easily. I am a retired special ed teacher, and have always loved chronicling life! So excited to see through fresh eyes...yours! Thank you for this beautiful journaling video that will inspire so many!

I feel like this year I’ve had what sounds like the near-equivalent of your 2014 year… just a lot of darkness and a great deal of struggle in trying to wade through looming amorphous, indiscernable shadows. Of course, I wouldn’t wish this sort of turmoil on anyone, but it brought me comfort to hear you talk about how difficult 2014 was for you- it made me feel like maybe I won’t always be this stuck. It’s also comforting to know that 2014 you was probably around the same age as me currently? Right now I am two years post-undergrad, which has been quite a painful and ongoing adjustment for me, adapting to the world without formal education as my backbone. Anyways, thank you for your transparency in acknowledging the heaviness of certain spans of your life. It is beyond helpful to those like me, searching for something to make sense of experiences which often otherwise feel quite hopelessly futile.

Again, so many things I want to say! I watched your video while eating sweet potato and butternut squash soup with bread I baked and I felt so cozy listening to your voice during a whole hour. This is bittersweet for me, because I believe my journal collection would look like yours if I hadn't threw them all out... For some reasons, I picked up the awful habit to rip out the pages from my journal as I wrote. I unfortunately have 0 journal from before because of this. I kept nothing. I have only been able to keep a journal again this year, and, so far I have 2 journals completed and I'm so proud of myself, but I feel so sad for all the memories I've lost. Anyway, it was really exciting to see your whole journal collection and it just reminds of how important it is to treasure these notebooks! I hope you will post a NaNoWriMo vlog for this year as well! I've really enjoyed watching your previous vlogs and you inspired me to participe for the first time ever in the challenge! You honestly help me with my creativity and I am so thankful for your channel. You have such a beautiful energy and I really hope you are aware of how much you've helped others! Thank you for everything you do!

I love how I can see the progression of how a person develops cognitively and emotionally in each stage of childhood through adulthood through your journaling journey. From concrete to the slow introduction of grasping the abstract in life. I always loved writing too, but never really fell into the habit/discipline of daily writing until I was in my 30s. Thank you for being so open with your life.

That was amazing. I've journaled on and off through the years I've been on for more than a decade now. I did journal in high school but my mom had a love affair with the garbage and managed to throw away my junk journals, art journals and even art work I had created in high school so I have nothing of that time in my life where I went through so many changes and learned to survive alone. You will leave your kids a great history. Which is what I dream of but it seems like no one around me is interested in journaling. Not even my friends. So I continue on this journey that has seen me through many many bright and dark days. I love that you've managed to bring it all together in one journal. I've done the same. Easier I guess.Thank you for sharing it was inspiring.

Omg what u said about using music! That’s exactly what I did in all my high school journals, I’d have what I call “lyric logs” where I wrote down lyrics that I related to, or loved, and if I was playing a song while writing, I’d write at the top “currently listening to: “ and now when i read back on all my journals, I can see how much my music taste evolved and it’s fun to relisten to songs I wrote down and being taken back to that moment!

This is perhaps one of my most favourite videos on KZbin, ever! I have had a similar journey with journalling, and this video has taught me so much more about self acceptance and embracing the different chapters of life. Honestly, it made me feel much less lonely in my own journalling practice, because I've felt like needing to write for my mental well-being is a luxury and sometimes perceived as a weakness or indulgence. It's only after therapy that I'm becoming more okay with needing to process things in my own way. So thank you so much for this video, I feel incredibly seen! Lots of ❤️ ☀️

I need to take all my journals out like you and display them and do an Instagram photo of them .😃🥰👍🙏😍🤩 📖 📕 📚 I used the artists way technique of journaling ….for a few years …..3 morning pages a day .

I tried to journal at various points when I was a kid and teen but it never stuck. Then I started a notes to my future self type notebook when I was in college and whenever I have stuff I want to note I write it down. That began as close to a “regular” journal as I have ever had, although 4 years later I am still only in my second book. Then I got into fountain pens a year and a half ago and look for excuses to write so I have been getting more regular with it.
