Gorgeous monsteras.!! My favorite is the Esquileto because I’m so in love with mine too. But now I really need a variegated Peru in my collection 💚

Esqueleto has been my absolute favourite plant since I saw it in the tropical dome at the Mt Coot-tha botanical garden in Brisbane when I was a nerdy teenager in the 90s. (Back then it was incorrectly identified as M. epipremnoides.) A friend of mine took a picture of me behind one of its leaves in 2008. It was massive, easily a metre long. I lived in Germany for a decade and when I came back to Brisbane for a holiday and went to the dome at the end of 2019 or the start of 2020, it wasn't there. I sent an email to the botanical garden and was told that it had died and they hadn't been able to source another one. It was the only one I had ever seen in real life and I never thought I'd have one or even see one again, but a few months ago I picked one up for really cheap. It's very cool to see yours.

Oh wow, that's a cool story! They're such amazing plants, I really love mine. It is due for a chop and extend which I have been putting off but it's just getting too big for my space.

Definitly the esquiluito nice to see someone growing plants in New Zealand. Im down in Dunedin so its a bit colder and less humidity than up your way.

Esqueleto is my fave too! Yeah we do have some good humidity sometimes but I know a lot of people in the South Island that grow plants just as well :)

What an amazing lot of Monstera. I can’t decide which I like best, they are all fabulous, even the littlest one. I’m always drawn to variegated plants, but then the huge plant you have in the garden also looks so spectacular. Thanks for sharing your monstera collection.

Thank you so much! I love the OG Monstera in the garden because it was from my Grandma. If we ever move I'm going to take a cutting with me for sure.

When I leave the lower leaves, I stick another to fill the area

I have done that in the past also.. I just don't have any propagating to fill it in yet.

What is in the moss pole? is it Tree Fern Fiber?

Awsome plants the obliq never seems to be happy unless they are climing somthing the die back on it could be it sucking its energy back to shoot out a runners thats all mine ever did until i put it on a support at least the el salvador is beautiful thats my next buy if i ever find one locally
