Im middle eastern and we grew up with the oud smell in our homes! Its common to use it like inscence. Its interesting that oud is now is very popular in the western world.

Alexandria Fragrances Fame 15 is the inspired version of Bond No.9's Andy Warhol. It is my favourite fragrance. Masterful plum and oud, and it is the most addicting smell. When I ran out of it, it's about all I could think about for two months ☮️

Definitely do the layering video I would love that. Meanwhile - I must try supernova. I love lavender but never found a good one to serve as a scent on my skin (it just comes off so herbal) But with all the other yummies mixed in - I’m intrigued

I'm quite intrigued by oud. Recently I wanted to understand what oud actually smells like, so I intentionally searched for oud heavy fragrances at a mecca and gave them a sniff. The ones I found were solely based around oud, so were quite intense. Now even tho I wouldn't purchase punch-in-your-face super intense oud fragrances, I find the smell/note of oud very interesting, both appealing and slightly offputting at the same time. Like a juxtaposition within the scent, that gives it real character and an edge. Btw, you look amazing in this hair color!! 😍 Love your videos and have been binge watching since I came across your channel. Your personality, your passion for perfumes and the way you present and describe fragrances in your videos: 10/10 !👌

I am generally not an oud person, as I tend to steer away from "beast mode" scents, but I fell in love with Gold Spot by Sarah Baker. It is so well-done and I think would fall into that entry-level oud category!

One more comment from me, just to let you know how absolutely phenomenally AMAZING you are with what you do - your videos are superb! It might sound cliche, but I seriously think your channel should have millions of subs. You’re one of the best perfume connoisseurs I have seen! In the comments people always say how great you are with your descriptions of scents and they truly are true. You’re appreciated. Can’t wait to see your channel “blow up” 🙄😅there’s the cliche term.

Hey Olivia 👋🏻 I've been waiting for a video on this topic because I very much enjoy the note of oud, especially when it has a warm woody smell. To the people looking for a beginner oud, I would also recommend a really nice and easy oud perfume- Oud mood by Lataffa ❤ comes really cheap and the woody, caramel-y smell is very cosy

Atkinson Oud Save The Queen is so regale, it is a tonka bean oud white floral, it is a complement getter, the oud is noticeable yet feminine. Oud Blanc Van Cleef & Arpels is a sweet powdery aldehydic perfume, I would recommend it as a beginners oud.

Dior's Oud Isaphen is my favorite Oud right now. At first I thought it was too similar to the MFK Oud Silk Wood that I have BUT after Decluttering it and keeping just the small mini, I feel in love with it (of course). Guerlain Tobacco Honey is my current FAVE and I can't splurge on the full bottle but I have the 10ml mini and that's keeping me happy for now. The honey turned me off at first BUT then I started to crave that scent and now I'm in love with it.

Lattafa’s Qaed Al Fursan. This is one that you need to spray and then let sit for a few weeks before you use it. It’s a pineapple that at some point becomes an aromatic. It’s one of my new favorites. Lattafa’s Ser Al Malika Attar Al Ghalia smells like wealth to me. I avoid Kayali. Kayali fragrances don’t work with my chemistry.

R'Oud Elements by Kerosene is a gorgeous fragrance. Citrusy and sharp to open, but then it just becomes a lovely powdery bonfire scent. Obsessed.

Just realized that I have a fragrance that has oud in the base notes, but it lingers more in the background I'd say. This perfume was my first blind buy and changed my mind on rose fragrances: it's Club de Nuit Intense Woman by Armaf, which gets compared to Noir de Noir by Tom Ford. It's sooooo good! LOVE the dark rose in it, albeit never liking rose fragrances in the past. This has honestly changed my nose/the way I perceive rose notes. And the oud, imo, is really subdued and does its job, but again hangs out in the background. Maybe a good one to dip your toe into oud fragrances? The perfume itself is pretty strong and quite the statement tho, dark, rosy, like red wine or a heavy/dark chocolate. This one is pretty popular so I'm sure many heard of it already, but honestly worth a try for 1. the price and 2. to have a statement worthy, dark, elegant, intriguing, vampire-ey and complex fragrance in your collection.

Is the rose here synthetic smelling like in Zara rose gourmand, or mancera roses vanille/ montale intense cafe? I’m interested in cdn intense woman, but synthetic rose scents give me the worst nausea and headache.

@@crystalbleau2611aaah, I think you mean club de nuit women, not the intense one? Apparently it's a good dupe for Delina Exclusif, from what I understand. I heard of that one but never smelt it, unfortunately. Sorry! Edit: It's actually Club de Nuit Imperiale, I just checked. I knew I got sth wrong😅 Club de Nuit Woman is a dupe for Coco Mademoiselle

@@Yeasy9181 Oh, I wish I could answer that question for you!🥲 I am new to the fragrance world thing and would probably only be able to tell you if I could smell them side by side to compare. Unfortunately, I haven't smelled either of them 😪 hope somebody else here will be able to help?🤞 All I can say from my experience with it is though, that I wouldn't have thought that any of these notes would resonate with me AT ALL, prior to smelling it and to my surprise, liking it. If you can get your nose on Tom Ford's Noir de Noir, it can definitely give you a very good feel for the fragrance. They're pretty similar, although I heard from some reviewers, that the dark chocolate note in Noir de Noir is more pronounced than in CDNIW. Sorry to be of little help! I even just sprayed it on my arm to see if I can figure out whether it's synthetic smelling or not, and... I'm clueless!!😅😂
