My first moebius model kit is The #eyegonewild #fantasymodel . I have no idea,yet,what it is like and will do an open box review later today..I hope it's as good as the artwork

VonFranco had a line of collector cards like baseball cards. In the late 60's. They had outrageous freaks driving wild hot rods. And the freaks always had bugged out eyes. I had the collector card of that eye gone wild when I was a kid in fact I had several of them. The card art looked just like that box art. But I didn't know there were VonFranko model kits.

I'd never seen this before and couldn't resist it😅😃I'd only seen the Von Franco 'Stoned Hoods and Crooks ' Willys coupe before, and that's dearer than this was. I had to think about paying 40 quid for this one let alone paying nearly 50 for the Willys

It's about the most tripped out kit I've seen Dan. I think it's a shame more people don't get more psychedelic with their entries. Many just enter 60s car kits exactly as suggested by the box art and not even custom painted..

​@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 I don't mean to get everyone upset. My apologies. All I wanted to say is that there's 2 guys with the "Von" moniker and this could lead to confusion. For the record, I want to clear up any misconceptions or errors on this kit's history. Kenneth Robert Howard (September 7, 1929-September 19, 1992), also known as Dutch, Von Dutch, or J. L. Bachs (Joe Lunch Box), was an American motorcycle mechanic, artist, pin striper, metal fabricator, knifemaker and gunsmith. Von Dutch was a pinstriper back in the 1960's that knew Ed "Big Daddy Roth", and did a lot of paint work on cars of that late 1950's and early 1960's era. I do believe Roth learned pinstriping from Von Dutch, but either way, these guys worked together at one point and had a connection. Von Franco is another pinstriper who is carrying on the "Von Dutch" tradition. Von Franco (born May 29, 1952) is a self-taught American artist associated with the Lowbrow art movement and Kustom Kulture. So Von Franco would have been 8 in 1960, which would be too young to have a thriving pinstriping business. He would be pinstriping more in the 1970's - 2000's to today. What adds to the confusion is that Von Dutch's logo included the "Flying Eyeball" image and Von Franco carried that onwards with this "Eye Gone Wild" model kit. It was Von Franco's tribute kit to Von Dutch's work. Yes, the style of the kit is based on Beatnik artwork stemming from Von Dutch's crazy pinstriping and flying eyeball logo and Ed Roth's art primarily starting in the mid to late 1950's, mainly 1958 with the Ed Roth T-Shirts and Rat Fink in 1963. There are other numerous pinstripers out there that also style their art work on that Beatnik era like Dirty Donny, for example. SO anyway, the kit and the artist are not the "Ol' Skool" guys, but something in that ol' style, just more modern. Enjoy your build.
