This was a fun video to watch. I'm here six months after the video was posted. I'm also here two weeks after Yoshi's passing. I still feel really bad for you. But anyways, I enjoyed watching the video, you and Tucker are great at jumping. He's such a pretty boy, blanket appaloosas are my fave coat color for an appy so Tucker is no exception. ❤

Thinking aloud: have you tried adding linseed oil to his food? Might help him gain calories. It did help tremendously with my 5 year old mare. Also if you don’t mind me giving you some pointers, you need to establish better connection with your horse so he can feel your intentions better. (I se that you have the tendency to let go of your reins before the first jump) Also you should try to get his hind legs more activated, that will help him in general whether if it’s flatworks or jumps 😊😊😊

Yep It’s a long comment the middle of it is just exercises Don’t think that your a bad rider because you don’t remember or do something wrong (even though everyone says this it’s so true ‘everyone makes mistakes’) Doing some core and leg exercises ( squats (also works the bum), step ups, running/jogging/walking bike riding is amazing too, swimming. Arm push ups (also works core, I hate doing push ups I prefer), sit ups (I have someone stand lightly on my feet, crunches, weights don’t lift very heavy stuff I once did and my shoulders hurt for 3 days real bad If you think of a question say it ask what parts are called what coat they are size different brush or breed names (you get the gist)

Just a question, My horse has been very antsy and stressed out lately, we had our vet out to see if there was anything wrong with her physically, but the vet said it was probably just extra energy bc she has been in work for 6 days a week her entire life an we retired her less than a year ago. I started lounging her 4x a week and rode her around bareback (we don’t have a saddle that currently fits her as we had them all fit to a lease horse I used to ride) once a week. She’s still showing signs of stress, her main one being pacing the fence, which worries me bc she has a cyst in her leg already and will go lame if she puts too much pressure on it. She will sometimes be covered in sweat before 10 AM and I will have to give her off bc she is sore from pacing possibly all night. I am uncomfortable with putting her in a stall at night as it would take a lot more hay and being trapped with out hay would just add more stress. She is on pasture 24/7 and I do ground work and basic liberty every day, I am outside with her almost once an hour(until I get back in school) and I still find that she spends that hour just pacing. She has two donkeys in her pasture and although they are inseparable, she doesn’t spend too much time near them(grooming, running around, being a horse, etc.), we are working on buying a new horse which will hopefully give her a proper friend as our donkeys have never been around horses or donkeys(they lived at a shelter since they were pretty young and were always together) so they don’t always know how to act like donkeys. Any suggestions on how to relieve stress and stimulate a horse?

how old is she and what type of work? I would stop lunging, but keep her engaged in different types of exercise and learning. So maybe this is two hacks a week in different places. Then two days of in-hand work walking and trotting over ground poles and cavalletis. Then depending on her previous work maybe you can keep that up lightly? What can you do with her that she would enjoy? Jumping? Dressage? Trail? She definitely needs a friends, most horses do. They are herd animals and prey animals and so every instinct in their body tells them they need a companion/herd. Hope things have improved for you since you posted!

@@jannayore566 she is 19, she is technically retured due to a cist in her leg that pushes on the tendon, and bad arthritis in all 4 legs, but she does rly well in light in hand work and seems comfortable.
