Good video with awesome tips. Can you tell me what clockspring part number you used? I'm having trouble even finding this part on the official Nissan parts store. The closest i get is the housing.

Thanks for the compliment about the video! I'm grateful it was of assistance. Here's the Partsgeek part # for the component the owner purchased. I hope you get yours sorted with minimal fuss. W0133-2546445

It’s idling too high also bro. You might need new coil boxes. Check the four of them and see if it idols lower than at the 2 mark, it’s supposed to be at Or right under the 1 notch

Gotcha, thanks for the insight. If I encounter another situation like this I'll definitely keep that in mind. This was someone elses vehicle.

The horn works and the wheel lights up but that is all for me. I got a fault for the airbag and I got a fault for the cruise control switch.

Definitely a bad clockspring. I installed a used one and it's been working fine for a while now. I hope you can get yours sorted.

As Salaam Mu Alaikum Habibi, thanks for the great video on this matter. Me and my Dad are trying to fix his cock ring now and couldn’t figure out how to take the airbag off safely so you’re highly appreciated bud. Subscribing to your page now. God bless you and your family.

I have a 2010 rogue with only 67k miles. Very well maintained. Got rear-ended recently then the airbag light started blinking. Auto shop doing the repairs cleared the codes and said I need a new battery. Light started flashing again before I replaced the battery. Replaced my battery and took it to Nissan. Nissan dealership says clockspring needs to be replaced. Travelers insurance paid for most everything to be repaired but they are saying clockspring is not related to the accident so not their fault. Does any of this sound logical? Got any advice?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. So, clocksprings are peculiar little things. They can fail totally out of nowhere. That said, was the computer code read to confirm it's a code pointing towards the clockspring? It could be a failed sensor in the rear end that was replaced. That wouldn't surprise me, but I also wouldn't be shocked if the clockspring just happened to go kaput. Hard to say until the computer is scanned. I pray you can get it sorted without much more trouble.

Thanks for replying. The nissan dealership service diagnostic says the code indicated the clock spring needs replacement. But I don't know the precise code. They say there aren't sensors in the rear that could have been damaged. I find it hard to believe. Seems like the rear end accident is the most likely cause of this just because of the timing (light only came on after the accident). But I have nothing to back this up. So the body shop and the dealership and the insurance are all saying it's unrelated. I'm stuck wondering can a failing battery cause the light? Would it reset eventually on its own since the battery is now replaced? Is it just a big coincidence that my light came on after the collision? Is it really the clock spring or something else? Lots of questions..

I'd suspect the clockspring has failed my friend. Seems to be a common problem.

Take it to a local parts store and see if they can clear. Airbag codes require a computer to reset.

Personally I'd try a cheap-o if it were my vehicle, but a lot of bad reviews on various forums of them. Buyer beware.

Joshua, I have 2009 Nissan Rogue with 180,000 miles. I have the same issue. Is there any danger to continue driving like this besides no airbag? If I did take it to a mechanic any idea what I can expect to spend? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the coment and compliment! Negative, there should be no driveability issues with just the airbag light on. The only other items that could be affected over time would be the horn and cruise control not functioning. Otherwise, it's just like an old car without airbags. Regarding if you choose to take it to a mechanic. First of all, you should check aroumd and see if anyone will replace a part you purchase. Of course letting them know any warranty issues with the component you'd take care of. Best guess is you'd be looking in the tune of $400-500. Parts markups are where most shops gouge consumers. And with the part, even for a consumer being expensive, I'd expect a hefty markup from most repair facilities. Hope that helps and best wishes in getting your dilemma sorted! Shalom!
