So for those of you that are watching this video in 2020+ years after, LifeTime blocked my video because I used some of their footage and I had to trim out the footage they copyrighted! So theirs like a 10min chunk that missing in the beginning.I just talk about how the audition process went, but This is my experience on Dance Moms with evidence and proof! *GGGGIIIIRRRRLLL FACTS!* I was a ballet dancer since I was 6 & my left was ALWAYS weaker then my right side & my dance teacher knew this. So she would PURPOSELY put me in the center doing every skill on my left & I would be the only black girl sometimes making me stand out w/o even doing anything. so u Kno I had to SLAY! There's been many of nights I wanted to break every damn mirror in that dance studio b/c my teacher refused to let me live 😂 not gunna lie, it did make my life side stronger, an all around better dancer & mentally stronger. As an adult completely understand why she did that. so SHOUTOUT TO MRS P! wow I thought that was only me ! Glad to kno im not alone 😂

Wow. Your lines are absolutely stunning, and your flexibility is insane. You have more challenges because of your gender and your age, yet you’re beyond exceptional. Better than most preteen/tween girls, who typically have the upper hand in those areas. You must have worked incredibly hard. My career and degree used to be in musical theatre. I had to retire when I was paralyzed in a spinal surgery gone wrong. Dance was something I always struggled with, hardcore. I was required to be a triple threat, but I really faked my way through and carried myself with my acting and singing. I took probably 7-8 years of multiple kinds of dance (tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, musical theatre and swing), and I did tons of shows with dance... and after all that? I could barely do a single pirouette. I was *always* in the back dancing, or singing on the side, during the big dance numbers. 😂 Dance is so much harder and requires so much more from you than people will ever know. “I can’t, I have dance/rehearsal/a show” is your new catch phrase. People who don’t do it, will never know how much we give up, and how much we suffer, to be artists. We give up sleep, money, time, life, diversity, relationships, and sometimes even our self esteem and sanity to be part of this business. If Dance Moms showed anything, I think it showed that you have to love what you do. If you don’t, there’s no way you can hack it. Keep dancing, keep loving it, and remember to be kind to yourself and to other dancers. That was my least favorite part of the business- most of the other people in it. Lol. You can end up with an attitude of, “if someone else succeeds, that is taking success away from me”, and end up very bitter and doing/hearing a lot of smack talk. Because performing is so competitive, that is how it works. Not everyone can get the job. But the major thing I learned from getting seriously and permanently injured and having to leave my career behind, is that life isn’t a competition. You’ve got to leave that mentality behind when you get out of the audition, and just love yourself and try to love others. This wasn’t meant to imply that you don’t. Just sharing my thoughts with everyone. :)
