@nmh ol I have seen some of those attacks. I will say the time she humiliated the lady by putting her on stage, during the show, in "Ellen Jail", was rather tasteless. Granted she will probably never do that again lol. But it was a little too much vengeance. But hey, nobody really got hurt, right? So what if the prank got the woman fired? Or kicked off the schools PTA? Or from snack Mom at soccer? Or any athletic or academic activities that she might have been the parent volunteer, now dismissed because of a prank. Does make one wonder..... How Manny tiny lies or accidental thefts that happen all the time to us every day, could ruin our lives if seen and counted as a crime instead of a mistake? Like something as common as dropping an ink pen in your purse or pocket. Not a deliberate theft, but it happened any way. Sorry, way too long a thread to make an inane point. So now I take my leave.🤓

I did stand up comedy on an open mic night. It went over extremely well. The MC couldn’t believe it was my first time. I got two rounds of applause. He came up to me as I was seated and said “You HAVE to keep doing this.” Following week I returned and bombed with my girlfriend and other friends in the audience. Just couldn’t shake it off. That was in 1992. During the lowest point in my life in 2014 I decided to go up again. I was in deep depression, so not sure where I got the strength to brave the 0 degree elements and drive to the club in the dark, leaving the dank surrounding of a basement friends were allowing me to stay at, but I went...and did very well. I sat outside in the restaurant area as audience members walked out. One gentleman in passing said to his lady friend as he slightly turned his head towards me “I thought that guy was pretty good.” That’s all I needed to hear. Amazing what a little encouragement can do. If only he knew what a difference that made and how often I bring that up. I’ll be performing again.

@TheNordicHunter3 жыл бұрын
@@Ena48145 I’m not belittling the “victims”. I’m talking about all those who instantly believe these false stories. I’ve watch tons of videos, including the one you mentioned. She laughed about it. She had to sit on a chair on Ellen’s stage. You know how many would pay to be on her stage? What Ellen does is called making jokes. Not about weight, color, gender, or anything else that would actually be considered hurtful. Ever see a Jimmy Fallon show or similar where they will randomly pick out an audience member, zoom the camera in, and then tell a false story about them? Everyone laughs. Nobody is “traumatized”. They put people on the spot at sporting events too. People get embarrassed. Big deal. We laugh it off. Some workers complained that they drove all over to get certain food and then Ellen never even ate it. 😳 Oh no! Go home and cry because she’s “traumatized”. Big fucking baby. Some people work there since the beginning and said it was so “toxic”. If it’s so toxic, then quit. You worked for Ellen which would give you a leg up over others. If someone stays in a toxic environment or relationship, that’s on them. It’s only a select amount of people with these claims and it’s because they are ungrateful thin-skinned babies. So many KZbin viewers inspecting the videos and putting their feelings into as if it’s fact. All these stars returning because apparently they like to be “traumatized”. Ellen could be so hurt by this that shear actually in shock by the response and knows it isn’t worth fighting because the cancel culture morons are like piranha. One drop of blood and they attack. They don’t bother asking questions to get the facts and there is no forgiveness or understanding. It’s one mistake and you’re done. What is it like to not make mistakes or have imperfections? Ever thought what it’s like to be Ellen? Super easy because she’s rich and liked? Maybe having to be funny and kind and full of energy is exhausting. Kinda like a family holiday gathering, but 5 days a week. Take a moment and put yourself in her shoes. Do that for anyone you want to judge.

I find that being kind to myself becomes counterproductive. People, in general, are kind and encouraging. If I don’t push myself kindness could keep me stagnant. I will try and enjoy the process a bit more. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Ontario!! Best province in Canada! Sucks that you found it difficult but performing like that would be hard to start with! You go guy! Nice to see an Ontario man on the Ellen Show! Yoohoo! I’m from Russell, just South east of Ottawa!

What a crazy experience! Loved hearing your story and so appreciate the encouraging words. Putting out content for the world to enjoy or criticize places creators in a very vulnerable position but it can also be very rewarding. Mentally processing an experience like this would be mind blowing🤯 Thanks for sharing✌🏼

For someone who's also hard on herself, thank you. Online learning has been tough lately (from philippines) and ive just been thinking of "musts and shoulds". Thank you for this reminder, it means a lot 🥺💙

You are so down to earth and grounded! I love your message with this story. It’s so important for us to find a way to encourage ourselves and stifle that voice which tells us we aren’t capable! This can be relevant across the board and thank you for sharing your story with us!

What an amazing experience you had Mike. And thanks for the reminder to just enjoy the process even if your inner critic screams at you. So good!

Thank you so much. I’ve never heard of you but genuinely enjoyed this video. I’m an artist and in a tough spot right now. Definitely a harsh critic of myself. And this really spoke to me. So thanks. Have a great day.

You got my full attention when you said you were from London, Ontario! I have relatives in St. Thomas and Port Rowan, Ontario. I usually recognize a Canadian accent right away, but you don't have one. Good luck with your career in this new year of 2021😊

We are tougher on ourselves than others are.. when you said that one negative comment erased all the positive ones broke my heart..I can relate

If you have a thousand positive comments appreciate THOSE and don't get hung up over a few criticisms. Look for the positive!😊

Hi I just found your channel / video! That's great of you to make a video about it. I never saw that episode, but I had to look it up and watch it just now. Honestly, that was a great performance! Nothing wrong with it - very brave of you to talk about such a nerve wracking experience. I have a very negative inner critic as well, I try not to get consumed by it, but I guess it's so common, don't beat yourself up about it. You are amazing! Thanks for inspiring! Introvert mom of 4 sons (2 autistic) enjoying the KZbin community, learning from others while trying to grow my channel (dog therapy music to save pups /humans lives) God Bless! I just like clicked and subscribed to your channel.

Omg. I love your honesty in this video. I had something similar happen to my crochet business years ago when I was invited to the Golden Globes. The press coverage was overwhelming. The hollywood experience was overwhelming and there was so much pressure from producers and press calling for interviews...I’ve never admit this to many people until now but, although I had to big-it-up to my audience that it was an honour, i knew it was good for my business and my future goals, but I was nervous as eff! Like sick to my stomach and overwhemed! And, I still have negative emotions associated to the experience. The way you told your story so honestly, inspires me to show that you can have success moments and be honest about how uncomfortable the whole thing really felt. God love you Mike!😊🙏🏼🙌🏽

Wow! Never heard of you; didn't see you on Ellen--but watched this out of curiosity and am so impressed by your (1) vulnerability, (2) your honest introspection, (3) your use of a big experience to grow AND to help others. We call all that wisdom. Looks like the appearance on Ellen achieved an unexpected good. A good more valuable than the career boost.
