I preordered the Kobra S1 because it’s a more budget version of the P1S. I “almost” canceled my order to get an A1, but it ended up shipping 2 weeks early the Thursday before everything happened with Bambu. The printer came yesterday, and although I haven’t done anything except take it out of the box, I’m happy with my decision. I love my iPhone, but locking down a notoriously open source, free roam hobby is insane.

I was lucky, my printer finally arrived, but it had the previous version of the Firmware installed, so I luckily only just dodged the bullet. Let me know how your printer is though when you have it running!

⁠​⁠@@DogByteFRI finally set it up on Saturday and have 30 hours on it. It’s been a learning curve as I’m absolutely new to the hobby, but it’s been so much fun printing toys for my son and cute little things for my wife. I’ve been perfectly happy with the print quality, but my pictures on Reddit have garnered the opposite sentiment.

I don't know why they didn't mention it to you - but the P1S comes with a roll of PLA that's on a reusable spool that you can put the PETG-HF on. source: I ordered one earlier this month and this was the case. the PLA is included so you can do test prints like make a benchy.

It did, I got 2 sample spools, and a spool of support material that I haven't opened yet. I was kind of hoping that came on the high temp spool, but I doubt it did, so all in all I got 3 spools.

They were told Bambu are the best probably by people who received free Bambu printers.

True but also I paid $2,200 for my X1C and I'll still tell you their machines are the best. The company sucks though.

@@kylequinn1963 Well I've seen some of their prints when printed at high speed. Definite ghosting so not high quality at least at speeds they promoted as a selling point. I had an Ultimaker 2+ which could print fast and never any ghosting. Donated it after buying an MK4S because it was a pain to load filament and can only print from an SD card, no ethernet or wifi. The MK4S is excellent, very fast, extreme accuracy, reliable, and most important for me....very QUIET, even at high speed.

sure they make good machines. i also have a X1C and a couple others K1C, flashforge Adventurer 5M, I also got to barrow a Flsun T1 Pro. honestly the print quality is just as good from the K1C and T1if not better the 5m was surprisingly good. all using a single color and the same filment. honestly I wouldn't recomend the X1C to anybody

Exactly. The next company that seems is going the same way is xtool. They must have a lot of funding because they are opening a customer service center in Silicon Valley.

I mentioned to someone else, but I was lucky, my printer arrived with the previous version of the firmware installed, so I ended up with a near miss

what if you wanted to print guns and dildos? it shouldn't be anyone's business, especially for a foreign company from a country with different laws

Exactly! I mean Idc about guns. but I draw the line at them knowing how big I like my dildos.
