Congratulations to you. I am an old man, almost eighty. I am in excellent health with no signs of deterioration due to age. I attribute most of this to the fact that I also practice alternate day fasting and have been doing that for a long time. I also do modest resistance training and walk a few miles every day. 7 months ago I was 30 lbs overweight with extremely high blood pressure. I'm only 34. I have 2 kids and knew I would die if I didn't change, leaving them behind. I started with 24 hour fasting. Lost weight but still bad blood pressure. Started cardio, dropped 30 lbs and lowered blood pressure to almost normal. Pulled my hamstring sprinting and had to quit for a month or 2. Gained weight again. Completely changed my diet and started lifting. Now I've gained 20 lbs back with low body fat. Blood pressure is 105 over 65 and resting heartrate of 55 bpm. Keep at it everyone. You can change just like she did, but find what works for you.

@@alyssacymone2121 hi, I eat close to keto (I do make sure to have some carbs so I dont go crazy. But not very much)on one day and then dont eat at all the next day. And drink tons of water and herbal tea with maybe some Stevia. The first 2 days I had a killer headache, but I took some "activated charcoal" to help pull out the toxins. I am going to make some keto desserts for Christmas for me. But I know I will have some sugar. But I'm not going to freak out and feel bad about myself to enjoy Christmas some. I'll resume after Christmas. I wish you well with your plan. Oh I dont call it at "fasting day" in between , I call it a "Healing day". My body has a chance to heal on those days that I dont eat. Her biggest tips: 1. Distraction is so helpful, stay distracted to stay on your fast 2. Meal Prep beforehand so you don't reach for something not nutritious 3. Eat foods that are nutritious, not just empty calories 4. Remember why you started (when you're ready and determined, you won't give up!) 5. Drink lots and lots of water and zero calorie drinks that you like, to get through fasting days 6. Bonus tip: lift some weight or do weight-bearing exercise, don't just run! 7. Bonus bonus tip: have a really supportive loving friend or partner :-)

The average person walks 1 mile in 15-17 minutes, so they are walking for 225 minutes on the low end for 15 miles or 270 minutes at 18 minute miles, which is pretty fast. Very doubtful they are doing that many miles, because they would need to intake about 1-2 gallons of water per day. If you combine that with IF then they would collapse.@@atashakgem

Carefull. I did the same, 260 to 185 but now I am back to 235. My biggest problem was that I never could get into maintenance mode with the diet and I never incorporated exercise. I guess I'm still a glutton on the inside. I Always told myself if I started gaining again I would just fast again, but it wasn't that easy for me. Going to get back at it though, but tgis time incorporating a more healthy eating style with more fruits/veggies ect... good luck.

I know these comments are old. But it’s interesting to me to hear you’re same height as myself and we all have a different weight preferences. I’m currently 142. I use to think 135 was my preferred weight. But lately as I gained a few pounds I don’t feel or see a difference. Not sure where I gained the weight. But 142 isn’t as bad as it was when younger. Everything still fits the same. I don’t like being under 130 bc then I feel too skinny and I start getting all the “are you sick” questions. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Also, now that I’m 37, I started to take vegan bloating/ indigestion pills. And they’ve worked great! Maybe that’s why a few pounds haven’t affected me. I am not sure. Good luck with everyone’s goal weight :)

I was so glad to get out that I actually left school six weeks before graduation and took my GED. I never wanted to deal with it again so you couldn't pay me to go to a reunion. It sounds like it did something to you mentally that you were never able to overcome, and I understand, but to say you should completely avoid it forever is promoting fear, not healing. Everyone went through things in school, but holding onto those bad memories long into adulthood is not healthy at all. My sister does that and shes 38 years old. I hope it isn't still bothering you as it always had been.

That is a result of bad food choices. Eat for performance not for taste and enjoyment only! Is it alive food or dead food? Ask that question each time you put food in your mouth! @@yellyukulelly7334 it's going great. I live it daily. Always kept in shape but this is the most energy and alertness I've ever been. And at 3:15pm it will be 18 hours since my last swallow of food. I'm not hungry, I'm not hangry, I'm full of energy, I will eat whole foods, alive fresh vegetables and fruit . Seeds n nuts. Fresh picked Oragan from my organic plant . So for weight loss it's a great tool, but being over weight is a wrong foods choice and eating alive you stay alive 🙂 its going amazing! I'm about to get Nordic walking poles, a weight vest, new walking run shoes, RHR very low, average 38--43 beats per minute. Lowest was 30. And it's a healthy low RHR as checked with a team of 6 cardiologists. Hey sorry for ranting on! I don't tell you this to impress you I tell you this to express to you the be gifts of alive whole foods, fish and poultry, lean red meat like lamb once in a while, along with mostly 18 hours intermitten fasting. I sometimes go 20--21 hours if I'm busy. Those days it's one meal that day but also lots good alive food! I walked miles while fasted and never hungry! I eat because the body needs nutrition. Sometimes I clean house and 36 hours to refresh, not often but once in awhile. Again I tell you this not to impress you but to express to you I hope things are working great for you also . Intermittent fasting has some less talked about cons. I have found a more healthy alternative is to eat low fat , carb and sugar free on the “fasting days” with plenty of protein and non starchy veggies. The THM eating plan is an even more balanced approach toward food. I think the “ intermittent fasting “ might be more necessary for those needing to lose weight quickly for surgery, but it’s important that the body is ridding itself of fat storage rather than the needed healthy fat that ladies bodies naturally need. I highly recommend Trim Healthy because they educated me on how to eat to keep my body healthy ( not simply skinny)❤️

We have type 2 diabetes that runs in our family too. My Mother is a diabetic and I have pre diabetes. I heard a doctor Wallach on the radio say that type 2 is caused by a deficiency of chromium and vanadium. He sells blood sugar control pills containing these things and other things, but they are super expensive. I found one that has the same ingredients named "KAL blood sugar defense", and this stuff works great. My Mother no longer takes insulin. These pills control her blood sugar. She takes the recommended 2 per day, but I just take one a day. Good luck

I went from a 38 waist to a 34, lost 20 lbs, and at 60 years old I am in better shape now than I was at 50. I cannot thank you enough, your video changed my life.

I'm in my early 50s and thinking of doing something similar, though not as extreme. (I'm just getting through a stressful situation first.) I'd heard of the 5/2. Five days eating sensibly, then 2 days only eating about 500 cals. The thinking behind it is that strict dieting doesn't always work well because your body goes into starvation mode after 48 hours. Also, depriving yourself can lead to demotivation and giving up, or binge eating. I don't think I can do the every other day intermittent, especially zero cals! But, I'm interested in the way you did it.
2 жыл бұрын
@@miaschu8175 5 / 2 doesn't work. It's simply a fact. Watch Dr Bergs videos about the subject here on youtube. Dr Berg is one of the main informative persons. It takes 3 days for ketosis to get started, that is when you run out of your sugar. Ketosis is great so you know. Your brain will be bright. You will not be hungry, and this is why Keto diet works.

@ that's complete Nonsense! Dr jason fung ( btw a REAL doctor... "Dr" Berg is not.. ) says that 5/2 DOES work as well! And I have been experiencing it myself for 6 months..... and lost 40 pounds so far....there is not "one eating lifestyle fits all " pattern! how dare u say that "this is a fact "?🤣 you btw needn't be on ketosis to lose body / especially belly fat.. you just need to have that " no food intake" intervall of at least 14 ( I do 20h) several Times a week .. not necessarily every day or 3 days in a row

antwnis94 well people obviously care about weight/fat loss and being healthy. You seem to be afraid of making the connection that health and life come from the Bible which is God’s word He has honored high above His name. God’s living word personified is Jesus Christ who was here since the beginning who has seen Satan fall from heaven like lightning. But of course your a sinner so this is typical response. Without the Lord in your life Satan is your daddy. I’ll be praying for you. God doesn’t care about your doubt. It would be better for you that you didn’t doubt. Oh well if you want to live in fear then go ahead.

@MmKay I guess it just depends on the person. Victims of physical abusive people usually become strong, build walls and will sometimes become an abuser themselves. Victims of mental abuse have a harder time with getting better and stronger and will often feel like they need someone to make them feel loved. Once a person who was physically abused understands and wants out of their situation for them, not because someone else told them, they are done. They will kill their abuser if need be. Where as people who are mentally abused deal with it every single day. They are the weakest link

I am 17 and started off at 85.9 kg (187 pounds) I started one week ago and have already lost 2 kg (4,4 pounds) so far. I’ll update ya in a week! Wish me luck!! Update: 2nd week: another 2.5 kg Update: 3rd week: once again 2 kg down Update 4: After 3 months of doing ADF I have lost a total of 10kg (22 pounds) My feedback so far: it honestly isn‘t too hard to get thru that one day of fasting since you kinda get used to it after the first week. But where it actually gets hard to keep up with the diet is when ur on vacation. Tbh my last vacation with my family which was only a week, it was really hard to keep going since you don‘t really wanna limit yourself on vacation. That was the moment where I kinda lost it and started '‘cheating‘‘ aka eating on my fasting days and at some point even stopped fasting completely. After a while I then started gaining my weight back especially during quarantine since I was barely active and only sitting at home. I have now gained almost 7 kg back. So here are my tips for you: 1. WORKING OUT is NECESSARY! I am honestly very lazy, thats why I chose this diet but you NEED to move or just do something or else your weight loss won‘t last 2. DO NOT EAT ON YOUR FASTING DAYS! Even though ur allowed about 500cal on your fasting days. If you are someone who rlly isn‘t into counting callories, weighing portions or stopping yourself from eating more after you have started, you should really just stick to eating nothing on your fasting days. 3. DRINK LOADS ESPACIALLY LOTS OF TEA 4. TRY TO EAT KINDA HEALTHY ON UR EATING DAYS. Tbh I really wasn‘t eating the healthiest on my eating days since I didn‘t wanna limit myself on those too. So if I wanna eat choclote i am going to EAT choclate and that‘s ok, I still lost weight. BUT don‘t take it too far, this diet in my opinion is something that will really help your weight loss journey as a starter but I could not do it for the rest of my life. So just try to make it a habit for yourself to just eat less and eat healthier through this diet. 5. POWER THRU! You got this :) honestly just start you got nothing to lose I will probably start doing ADF again and will update you guys on here

What I love is your change of sense of self. Through this journey you have held on to your self of self judgement. You found the plan that worked for you and while you did lose all the excess weight you needed to and incorporated a work out schedule as well you held onto your deep rooted self love. You knew that you were worth the effort and you proved that and I thank you for being such a legitimate role model to so many that are going through such similar challenges as those you followed through on. My hats off to you for being not only the necessary inspiration to yourself during those dark times but how much you have inspired others to stay true to not only themselves but the goals and joys that they not only deserve but we’re born to fulfill.

People, intermittent fasting is just a fad. You have to understand at the end of the day it only has to do with calories in and calories out. You need to burn more calories than you consume. Whether you eat 2000 cal a day in two meals or you eat 400 cal five times a day it’s not going to make a difference at the end of the day.
@TheBarloboat
@TheBarloboat 4 жыл бұрын
It’s me IF is more than that though. It stabilizes and heals your hormones. Just watching and burning calories does not have the physiological effects that intermittent fasting does. It's not a fad. It's actually the way we as humans are built to survive. Not to mention....it works!! So, you call it what you want. But before you criticize you should do your research.

Same! I started 16:8 IF early January and honestly I haven't even been perfect with it and I'm down over 12 pounds! Mostly just even when I screw up I just try to not overdo it on the sweets/snacks/carbs and it's helping a lot. Especially just drinking water and avoiding snacking. Been drinking a lot more water and a lot less pop (I get pop like once a week and for like special occasions).

@Cryptolorian
@Cryptolorian 2 жыл бұрын
@@tristantries9211 Hold on, you don't really need to do any longer than 16-18 hours, if you can skip a meal every day and just fast for 16 hours, then that alone should bring you a lot of benefits. You can spice things up and do a full 24 hour fast once a week if you can.
@miaschu8175
@miaschu8175 2 жыл бұрын
There's no point in doing 48 hours as that pushes your body into starvation mode and it won't want to get rid of its fat stores. The best diet for you is the one that you feel comfortable doing, as that will be the one you can stick to. The 5/2 diet is 5 days of a balanced diet and 2 days of almost fasting - about 500 cals (for a woman). The 2 days don't have to be consecutive. It's not going to be as fast as the ADF, but it's doable. There are no restrictions, but you're supposed to make sure you eat healthily with only occasional treats - not takeaways, crisps and chocolate!
