I would recommed the Ruby Cup too, which is also a buy one give one! When you buy a Ruby Cup, the company sends one to a girl in Kenya. In South Africa (and I believe in many other places of the world) girls have to skip a week of school each month and they have to use anything they have (such as pieces of old mattresses, newspapers..) as pads, which is very dangerous. Some even prostitute themselves in order to have money to buy pads. Ruby Cup is a very nice project :)

Is the OrganiCup good as a start? It seems a bit thick to me and I worry it might be uncomfortable. I would prefer less thick one 🧐 I have never tried it tho, but plan to

If anyone wants more info on cups I would really suggest precious star pads! She is so thorough and knowledgeable about all things to do with menstruation. She really helped me decide to actually try a different cup. I've been using a diva cup for about two or three years and it's okay but I'm excited to try the lily cup and lily cup compact! Also just ordered Thinx period panties because I do get some overflow even after a few hours. Thanks for sharing your experience!

just wanted to thank you for this video! I had been having doubts about getting one for a while, but after your video I finally ordered one. I just got to use it for the first time a couple days ago and it's not nearly as scary as I thought it would be! Still getting getting used to it and using it along side my 'normal' products, but hopefully I'll be able to fully make the switch soon :D

Such great advice to take a couple of days at home with the product and get used to how it feels in your body. I just finished my first cycle with a reusable disc. A few times I swore to myself it had to be leaking. It never was. So now I know when I get that particular feeling with the disc, it doesn’t mean it’s leaking. To be away at school or on a vacation trying to navigate that would truly be hell. You won’t be an expert on the first try with a reusable product but it’s worth the effort to learn it. I’m happy I found this channel 😊

I tried this for the first time after maybe 2 hrs in the shower trying to get it in. I felt like it was folded the entire time. It felt like it was too big. I felt it suction but when i pulled it out it was folded still. I got very very sore and used tampons for the rest of my cycle. Any tips for this? Ive tried several folds. Back and forth motions but i feel lile i cant get it to "pop" into its regular shape

It doesnt leak at all?
@eaudenkrauska61883 жыл бұрын
@@cloud291 Nope, never full-on leaking, but if you get some blood on you when you take it out, that will of course show up on your underwear. I usually empty it in the shower or use a bottle to spray some water to rinse off afterwards, so it's not an issue at all.

@@NorthflowoI thought that it has to be removed when peeing, but now I understand, thanks. Since you have experience… it’s my first time trying it and it looks very scary to me. The vacuum just freaks me out🤦🏽♀️ I feel like I will lose the cup somewhere in there or I won’t be able to take it out, bcs the vacuum… also I don’t think that my cup opened, it was staying folded. Can you please advise me something
@Northflowo3 жыл бұрын
@@bunny9489 That's a really valid concern because the cup *can* be hard to remove sometimes The thing is that you can't really *lose* the cup because it can only go so far, personally it has never ever gone so far that I wouldn't be able to reach it. Around 10 months back I had one time at the end of the cycle that it just wouldn't come off, and I ended up wearing it for 14 hours before I finally managed to dislodge it. One good thing about the quarantine is that I have had a lot of time to get used to the cup before having to go out there with it. My advice would be that you get better at using the cup after a while, and then you probably won't have problems anymore. And also, the stuff that people say online might not apply to you because every body is a little different. I was always told to grab onto the bottom of the cup to break the seal, but that just never seemed to work. I have instead started to find the edge of the cup with just one finger and then pried it loose. I'm not sure if that's helpful to other people, but I just find it easier.

I've wanted to use a menstrual cup for about a year now and I've tried one a few times. The one I have is the smaller size, but I still feel I am too petite for it. I also have a hard time trying to relax while putting it on (in¿ idk). The first few times i tried it I couldn't get it half way in. I've been getting it almost all the way in, but trying to put it further hurt so I decided to wear pads for now. Do you reckon I'll get less petite over time (as I'm only 15) or should I see a gynecologist?

oona tapanainen I'd say give up. If you want to risk it whipping you in the vagina as it snaps open halfway in, carry on. I'm 23 and it is futile.

@olihill49334 жыл бұрын
Hollie Le lion I totally recommend taking it out beforehand!! It’s unlikely to come out, but because bowel movements do cause a quite a bit of pressure in the general area it will probably move which could cause leakage and a lot of discomfort

Were you more a pad or a tampon user before? I use pads and am thinking about changing to a cup, but I am not sure if it would work for me because I already don't feel very comfortable with tampons. Anybody had any experience with that?

+minimalistic flower I only used pads too because I didn't like tampons since I thought they made everything very dry. No problems with the cup though and I would never use anything else again.
@MMEF25138 жыл бұрын
+minimalistic flower I was the same so I switched to cloth pads instead of a cup. They are not gross but I do not have a heavy flow so can get away with cloth panty liners (which aren't so bulky) instead of the pads (except for overnight).

Hey (question for anyone who feels like answering) -- does anyone know of a cup that is designed for people with a VERY heavy flow? I've tried a couple of the bigger ones with no luck. Without tampons, I'm basically house-bound for the first half of shark week. :(
@acmulhern8 жыл бұрын
How comfortable are you with your cup? Because if you create a good seal it doesn't matter how heavy your flow is, it should not leak. The reason being that even when it overflows it has nowhere to go other than stay inside you. It does take a few months practice to get the hang of the cup and how to create a good seal, so in the beginning I also wore a pad to make sure that there were no leaks. Hope this helps :)

+sanne koerts I highly recommend the cup, I used to be a disposable pad user and I always got rashes or some sort of irritation from it, plus the waste I contribute to the landfills! So I decided to try one and lo and behold, it was the best purchase I ever did!(sorry if I sound so passionate, but I really love the experience when I use the cup). Once you get a hang on how to properly insert and take it out off you(which takes a lot of practice and presence of mind) then it will be amazing! I bought mine a month ago and used it for my cycle that month and I think I will never go back to disposable pads, but I am interested with reusable cloth pads. Though I heard it takes a lot of time to wash and tend to them but if it will not contribute to waste then it definitely will be worth the try. :)
