While I agree with telling the children the truth about their mother I don’t agree with the method the father used. He should have told them privately instead let he left both kids alone to deal with their grief and potentially soured an entire holiday.

Didnt know a holiday was more concerning than someone breaking up a family.

I agree. While they are old enough to eventually tell about the infidelity. He shouldn’t have done it like this. Hope he’s got enough money for the therapy they’re going to need later when they have a messed up view of romantic relationships and can’t even enjoy future Christmases without thinking back to this moment.

For the rest of their lives they’ll always thing back to that morning every Christmas. It was unfair to them and dad should have handled it differently. The children needed to know but there was a better way.

@@sabr4174 Even if it was brought after the holiday, it still would have sullied the holiday. Mom probably shouldn't have cheated.

Kids are resilient, they bounce back well. And this way the filthy garden tool cannot try and spin the narrative to turn the kids against the father.

that betrayal within a family can cause deep wounds, but it can also lead to growth and liberation when people choose to stand up for themselves. While feelings of anger and disappointment are strong, finding a way to forgive oneself and move forward is the only path to healing.

Time heals but wow. I think if you hold onto that bitterness you might end up destroying yourself. Now this story, people really need therapy. This story seems a lot truer than most of these types of stories. I think forgiveness is still possible maybe years later. But that is not the same thing as forgetting.

The father was 100% wrong to do that on Christmas morning while opening gifts, now that's all those two girls (who were innocent of any crime) will think about on every Christmas morning from now on. This is all the mother's fault but the father acted in an EXTREMELY selfish manner. It traumatized the clearly emotionally fragile younger daughter. The mother is the villin but the father handled the situation with the children very wrong and aging alcohol to it is just disgusting.

I get dad is hurt but he shouldn't have exposed mom in front of the children on Christmas morning. You don't involve children in adult situations that they have no control over.

And what? Let the garden tool turn the kids against him by lying about everything, even toss in some false accusations to boot? Kids are tougher than many give them credit for.

@@zackkatian3436 No you tell your spouse you know and your getting a divorce and then you ket the kids know what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.
