I feel you my brother, thank you for sharing. I lost my 75 year old dad back March, the same week I got the very first stripe for my white belt. I'm grateful to my BJJ practice for keeping me sane and centered during a difficult time. Wishing condolences to you, my friend!

Your channel is one of the channels I started watching when I was considering taking up JJ at 46. I’m now 3 months into training having lost over a stone in weight and probably fitter than I have been for15 years. You are inspiring people all over the world and I’m sure your father would’ve been extremely proud of that. They never leave us. Sorry for your loss from Mac all the way from Scotland ❤

I've been a jiu-jitsu practitioner from the age of 16 in '95. I'm 45 now and lost my dad this year from sudden pancreatic cancer... I watch a lot of your content, it helps as someone who trained as a young man and now trains as an old man. My father didn't understand why I stopped playing baseball and started doing MMA and BJJ. He never really saw me compete or train. He told me he was proud of me for staying with it because he could see how passionate I was about it, but I wish he could have seen me compete some time. Thanks for posting this video. It's hard becoming old men.

My condolences brother, my father is over 80 and I know the days are winding down. We are much alike, I'm in my 50's, 57 to be exact, and a brown belt. I coach at my dojo and have 2 great professors. Drawn to your channel because of jiu jitsu, but also because of the stage in life. I can't roll every day, too old for that, but giving back and teaching, encouraging and building up my teammates is very rewarding for me and I have that mentoring spirit as well. Hang in there brother, your father knows you respected and loved him and that is the most important thing to fathers.

Sorry to hear brother. I lost my dad 5 years ago. It’s strange for something to happen in my life or my kids and wanting to pick up the phone and tell him about it.
